Vignette technique

so i tried the vignette technique for the first time on my photos cause the background was kind of boring...what you guys think?

Gotta love New England with all those damn telephone poles.

I like the selective use of color, though. Nicely done.

It's too square, vignetting is circular

haha thanks! the pics were taken at the plymouth airport around noon time and the sun was blazing and i had to find a shaded area for the shoot. the below link is more unedited photos i took.

yea i see what you guys are talking about....i wanted to draw more attention to the cars than the background.....maybe i should just try out the lens correction filter in CS4 instead to get a better vignetting.

vig effect is supposed to be circular. i believe it first appear due to the lens itself at low f stops and then people started getting creative with using lens hoods and now photoshop....

i don't care for the coloration of the pics, but the vignette in the second one is nicely done.

personally, I use Tiffen DFX for vignetting, and it also helps improve pictures that are just lacking.

I would stick with the lens correction filter.. the square looks a little cheesy.
