2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition

Quote:
GM has closed the gap between its flagship Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and the Zo6 by introducing the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Cabon Limited Edition model.

With production limited to just 500 examples, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon combines the road-holding and braking of the ZR1 with the naturally-aspirated engine of the Z06.

The Corvette Z06 Carbon features Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with specific dark gray metallic calipers from the ZR1 and black 20-spoke 19-inch front/20-inch rear wheels wrapped in Michelin PS2 rubber.

It will also include Magnetic Selective Ride Control for the first time on the Z06 along with enhanced cooling and a special carbon pattern engine cover.

Customers will be able to choose between two exclusive exterior finishes – Inferno Orange and the all-new Supersonic Blue.

The outside of the Corvette Z06 Carbon has received the full ZR1 makeover with black headlamps and mirrors, a ZR1-style body color spoiler, body color door handles, carbon fiber raised hood, and black carbon fiber rockers and splitter.

Inside, the Corvette Z06 Carbon is finished in a combination of leather and suede complemented by blue or orange seat stitching to match the exterior color chosen.

Other features include a unique steering wheel emblem, sill plate and logoed headrest with suede used on the steering wheel, shifter, seat inserts, armrests and doors.

For buyers that miss out on a genuine Corvette Z06 Carbon, an optional Z07 performance package that includes the mechanical upgrades introduced on the Z06 Carbon can be added to a regular 2011 Z06.

The 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition adds to the Z06, Grand Sport coupe and convertible and ZR1 models already on offer in the Corvette line-up.

Looks like a cop car that would be in a Need For Speed videogame.

It looks very much like the ZR-1 with less details (plastic engine cover is gone).

This is going to be one serious machine.

Larger wheels & tires, CCB and magnet ride are a good thing. 505hp is PLENTY in a car barely weighing 3200lbs. This will make the Z06 a more progressive car to drive at the limit. I owned a Z06 and at the limit, it is like a live wire. You have to be patient when exiting corners, but it was so much fun! It'll be interesting to see what this car does on the track.
In the Lightning Lap from C&D, the Corvette Grand Sport was already quicker than the Audi R8 V10. This should be quicker yet with more HP.
SWEET!!!

Just for a clarification the CCB and magnetic ride are part of the Z07 package which can be had on any 2011 Z06...does not come standard on the CARBON Z06. Both the carbon z06 and Z07 come with Zr1 wheels/tires.

It has everything I like styling-wise about the C6 generation:

-Strong ZR1 hood minus the stupid clear plastic
-ZR1 chin, spoiler and diffuser
-ZR1 wheels (not in chrome thank god)
-BLACKED OUT HEADLIGHTS FINALLY FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU-

It does? News to me. They spank cars twice their price around road courses. I guess it'd be a bigger bloodbath if they took the jello out of it? Lucky for porsche et all.

ZR1's are going for 110-112 right now. A combination of Carbon z06 and z07 is going to run close to 95 or 100.

As for it "handling like jello" you've clearly never been for a ride in one with a competent driver

Did you read the 3rd and 4th paragraph in the press release? The Carbon comes with the magna ride, CCB brakes and the ZR1 wheels amongst other interior and exterior mods.
You can ADD the Z07 package to any Z06 that includes the magna ride, CCB and ZR1 wheels.

oops. I did not read that specific one, but some of the others i read were worded differently and made it seem like you can get the carbon with or without z07. My mistake
