why does it look like the positioning looks a bit retarded? the shift knob is blocking half the screen..

mounting it as if it were the idrive screen would have been better. losing 2 vents, and trying to place everything else on that center strip makes everything look weird. is there no way to do away with the stock headunit once you put a pc in?
