I've always like Audi...big time but the A4 in stock form is a very boring car(had one for 4 years). I hate the fact that the new B8 has become a boat and have an electric handbrake. RIP A4 96-08.

He said Premium Plus with the Navigation. That is about 38,500+Tax i think. Should have tried to get a huge discount though.

She's definitely happy, she loves the exterior and how "cute" it looks. Like I said before, as long as shes happy thats fine, but this rant was purly from my perspective. I am more into sports cars and a more spirited driver, while she only needs a car that looks nice to her and its comfortable to drive around town. Not a fast sports car that handles like its on rails.

we feel your pain.

I'm interested in the 2.0T Quattro Audi A5. I know it'll be a big downgrade in power from my 335xi, but I'm thinking with some mods I can make it comfortable enough to not miss the rest of the power I'd be lacking.

I'm just in love with white A5 + Brown interior. everything about it makes me smile. But if I can't negotiate a good deal, I have no problems getting a 335i coupe. I'd be easier, really, as I could port over my JuiceBox and other stuff easily...but that's plan B right now.

we'll see.

If she really got it for $41k, she definitely needs some negotiation help...
Those things go below invoice these days.
I got my 2010 S4 for $44k + tax...

Anyway, all that matters is that she's happy. You, on the other hand should understand that the FWD + CVT combo is the worst possible A4 combo out there.

Random curiosity, ever think about the S5 instead of the A5?

I don't know much about Audi to really comment on whether I like or dislike their cars. However, I never really got why many people think that Audi's interior is better than BMW's. Audi's interior looks so Japanese like. It's not necessarily a bad thing but how that is "better" than BMW's is beyond me. To each his own though.

Not many people like the minimalist nature of BMW design. Gives off the image of being less sophisticated instead of being rational.

I really understand Audi and Acura's idea of having a button for everything in plain sight although people complain about it, owners get used and they fall to hand easily.

Well its $41k WITH TAX and other charges already included. The 41k is the finaly price when all was said and done out the door. Does the fact that she bought it in LA make any sense for it to be so expensive? I mean CA sales tax is like 9.25% I think. The S4 they had there was $60k+ because of dealer mark up and it had a lot of options. Still, I freaking hate Pacific Audi.

As for the me not understanding that the FWD + CVT is the worst possible combo, I do understand it is the worst one out there. That doesn't mean I shouldn't give it a bad review. Just because I understand that this is a bad combination means I shouldn't say its crappy to drive? I shouldn't have to understand because they shouldn't have offered it in the first place. This is a review of it, not an understanding of it being a bad combo. BMW doesn't have some stupid combination like that, its rear wheel drive OR xi. This being a BMW forum, naturally I am comparing the Audi to BMW.

No. You are absolutely wrong.

The Quattro (the one you are thinking of with the A4) that the A4, A6, A8, etc. use is a Torsen-based system and is in no way, shape, or form based on FWD.

Sure, if you want to go further, let's consider the version of Quattro that the A3 and TT use. That is a Haldex-based system and is FWD-biased, but that does not make it any worse than a Torsen-based system, in my opinion. Still a great, reliable and capable system.

The Q7 uses a BorgWarner based system, which again, is not FWD-based at all.

The R8 is a different story all together as it is vicious coupling and is RWD-biased.

I've got an A4 as my daily driver and the only way to go with 2.0T engines is with manual transmission.

And comparing FWD A4 2.0T to RWD 335i is a little bit out of control. LOL

Agreed. I love it when people option their cars with sport, paddle shifters, and some other small things like heated seats, park assist and call their cars fully loaded. Fully loaded means you have pretty much all the options available. For example, a car with ZPP, ZSP, ZCW, navigation, park assist, etc would be considered fully loaded.

You own a 335 right? Your review was based on the fact that you are used to what you like to own and drive. I maybe be wrong but that's the impression I got. No biggie though

Well to be honest I was trying to compare it to a 328i because I got 328 loaners a whole bunch of times, so I know how they feel. But ya, no biggie.
