im a funeral director. our mortuary is an old home in philadelphia. our chapel is one part of the funeral home. not your typical there is a situation id like to address...

not everyone can be in the same room as the preacher. the chapel is somewhat small and i want to film the service and broadcast to other parts of the funeral home where people are sitting....

whats the most cost effective way to do this?

what should i expect to pay some techy to set all this up for me???

i already have a 50 inch TV to mount on wall

I know you can use Windows Media Center to do this.
But you need the proper wiring and the doohikies to make it work.

I've always wanted to have a central Blu-Ray player that plays to other TVs.. the cost is high!

you need a system like the Kaleidescape (http://www.kaleidescape.com/) but less high tech

What you are referring to is called closed circuit television (CCTV).

Should be able to get it done for pretty cheap in terms of equipment. Its the wiring you'll have to pay for. I dont know if I'd take my chances with wifi cameras and whatnot. True hardwire would be the safest bet.

Why not try and rig a set up out of security cameras? I've seen units go for around $300 at Costco.

some closed circuit TV can come in with decent quality if the camera and Tv resolution are matched....you would be surprised. im not thinking of getting away with a 7-11 type black and white 14 inch monitor....

i would spend a nice chunk on a camera and tv...maybe two tvs.

however, i do not need to record this. there will be no need to save the data. i just need to broadcast live to other parts of our mortuary...
