I still cringe when I see a G8X. That has not grown on me one bit.

Don’t think this will get better the more I look at it. I refuse to conform so I can be part of the crowd. It’s ugly…period.

No comment until the M5 gets released or we get way better pictures than an up close, underslung image of the rear corner of the car.
What a terrible excuse. A great design looks good from any angle.

Nonetheless, the M3/M4 and M2 still look the same as in the first time leaks: terrible.

Sorry, meant rain light. But often you see vendors sell CF diffusers with "F1 style" brake lights essentially they flash when the brakes are applied.

We lost DCT in the G80 and you can make an argument for a lot of owners that they would prefer the F8X overall.
Have you not seen the F80 values lately lol?
f82 did go down considerably but not the sedan.

And now you have this new 5 , the car is completely atrocious.
We are not even talking about some grille design which was quickly fixed with a few aftermarket companies.
The entire car looks off , just hideous.
The rear end surprisingly is the *best* part about this car LOL and I cannot wait for the comments on the full reveal.
And I would be surprised if the current M5 values don’t hold up.
But people have always said that "the old car" was better. When E9x came out, it was overweight and fat looking... E46 was better. When F8x came out, it was turbocharged and lost the V8... E9x was better. When G8x came out, it was ugly and lost the DCT... F8x was better. Now, nice examples of older M's do hold their value well. But on the whole a nice example of a newer model is going to be worth more than an equally nice example of an older car save for collector-tier examples.

(Thus far) You're either being a fan boy or like the terrible design BMW has been putting out. Each to their own. This do not look like a 150k car. The fact these are "meme quotes" means enough people feel the same way and BWW is becoming a joke. I will give my full assessment at launch but it does not look good. So yes, I will follow the movement and buy a Porsche. Yes, I will hang on to my low mile F90, and I will appreciate the last nicely designed M5 BMW put out.
————————————————————————

It sounds like I’m entitled to your opinion. You don’t have to take things so literally. BMW is not fail proof, they’ve gained some negative attention which is clear in these comments. Maybe it’s positive marketing? Maybe it’s not. I’m not a bandwagoner, I’ve drivin BMW and only BMW. Sounds like to me like you may be the fan boy I described. Each to their own.

Cheers!
You are, of course entitled to your opinion, I'm just disagreeing with it I am somewhat of a "fan boy" but I don't feel that BMW can do no wrong. I don't like the way the new M2 looks, ALL of the modern M's are overweight. I hate that they ditched the manual option in non-Ms. They aren't fail proof, but I feel that much of the criticism is over-blown and the ideas that some people have about their cars shooting up in value because the new ones are, in their opinion, ugly, is just sort of ridiculous to me.

The only thing I don't like about the G90 is that I can't afford one.

Is a public forum and everyone is entitled to have an opinion. Hence, you will find all kinds of opinions in here. In fact, the diversity of opinions is what make everything moving towards evolution. Not the other way around. Yes, I do not like the new BMW direction in terms of design. I am still a fan. Otherwise, I will be just an average Joe consumer, a badge guy. Or for me, BMW is more than that and exactly my dedication makes me voice my opinion. And after decades of only BMW, I believe that I am able to comment on that. Not least, you have no right to ask me whay I am here. Like you, I have the freedom of speech and you have no saying in my right to exercise it. Otherwise, if it will be your forum, and this kind of attitude will be in it, of course, I would not like to be a part of it.

Not least, it takes some respect, common sense, and a level of wisdom to be able to accept everyone’s opinion. You have a voice and I respect it; why you can not respect mine? I might disagree with you, but I will fight for you to have it.
Comments like yours are not welcome and futile.

Please stick with the subject, feel free to talk about the car, and prove that you can do more than just personal attacks. Is a matter of good manners and respect.

That's not the point. How many people who saw the the M3/M4 grille leak said how crap it was and how many saw the leaks of the 2er and M2 that said the same thing because how the pictures were taken and are now owners?

This isn't about if the final design is good or bad, it's all these "leaked" photos are generally terrible where it's nothing but a photo of one area of the car in the non-ideal angles.

The final M5 design could in fact be garbage, but I can't make the conclusion of this photo. All we know in this photo is that there's a split diffuser.

I hated the M3/4 grill design and I hate the front on the M2. Never going to change for me.

I always get a kick out of the introduction of a new design: “I hate it!” , “I love it.” , “you haters are old and stupid and you will love it soon.”
Or maybe not. I have owned every single version of the M3 until the “ ‘Mater teeth” front end was introduced. Can’t stand the look, so moved on to the 8 series. I’m not very impressed with the 5 design so far, so probably won’t be on my radar either. It looks like they designed it in Minecraft.
If the current design trend continues and the 8 looses it’s beautiful design, I will look elsewhere for my next coupe or sedan. I still love my X6 and X7, so it’s obviously I don’t mind change. I just don’t like these uninspired designs.

To be Honest, I like the spied rear end. It's different from the G80/82 and creates an own personality on the M5.

Following all the last models, G80/82 and G87 are an example......the reaction is always the same:

First spies: "Awful! WTF they've done?"
Official Pics: "the previous gen was better"
Official presentation: "I have to admit that in person is better"
First real life meet: "WOW, wild looking, that car is sick!"

six months later: "ordered one, still waiting for my VIN".

So, don't judge it just looking at a spy pic..... because a lot of you will buy it.

I hope to be one of the lucky owners of a brand new G90 M5 one day....or maybe a Touring one..

Agree, I don't understand the Camry comparisons. They're both four door sedans, other than that they look absolutely nothing alike. It makes for good internet forum fodder I suppose.
