I'm not sure if the goal of seeing this guy is to have a long term relationship or not. But if it is and you want to figure out if he's just as in to you, I would tell him that you would like to postpone your second date to another day. Tell him, you need to spend the weekend with your daughter and see how he reacts.

Why I say this struck something inside of me was I dated this single mother a while ago. The thing that made me really respect her was how she made her son a priority in her life. We didn't work out but I had nothing but respect for her.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I have 100% custody. So I see my daughter everyday, its just my Mom offered to take her for the weekend so that I could go out Friday night and do whatever I wanted with him through the weekend without having to worry about being home at certain time to relieve a sitter. It would be my first weekend without her since she was born. My Mom also lives 120 miles away. So a 240 mile round trip down miles worth of pea gravel roads, its not like I can just go and pick her up on Saturday when I start to miss her.
