I have had that happen a few times when I was younger and stupid. Most people (98%) that do something like that, aren't going to do anything.

The guy is an idiot as I have seen people do that and get lit the fu@k up. What are they going to do, file a police report that they brandished a firearm that is most likely illegal, and got attacked??

It's the guy with the gun or blade you don't see that you have to watch for.

If I were in that situation now, I would have just backed up and found another route if I could instead of sitting there and "stewing".

My only comment to add is that if I was the guy in the car and was going to display my gun back at the asshole I'd have had it out of the holster. If it went sideways then your in a wild west draw for your life situation. If the idiot on the sidewalk decided to pull his gun I wouldn't want to be sitting trapped in my car fumbling with the holster.

Agreed...but said idiot on the sidewalk is pulling up his shirt with his strong hand, leaving the weak hand to pull a gun with the grip facing the opposite way, leading me to think he'd have to first change hands on his shirt, so he could pull with the dominant hand.

So maybe both numbnuts would clear at the same time.

The guy standing has all of the advantage, he can move to cover or just move and shoot, the gun is already to draw. The guy in the car is at a complete disadvantage because he needs to use two hands to get the pistol out of the holster and is a sitting duck while he does it.

Had I been the guy in the car I would have had the gun out of the holster and had the idiot on the sidewalk at gun point.

Yeah, but you're a...salty...individual, and the guy in the car was sweet enough to give the other guy a chance. I don't disagree the guy standing is in a much better place. But I do think he should have lifted his shirt with the other arm to maximize his advantage.
