^ Good grief.
So I guess my 2006 Z4M will stay the "current" Z4M for a long time to come, lol. So much disappointment here, oh well. |

What, no headlights slicing halfway back the fenders? No shin-slicers? Where are the 24 mostly needless scoops and vents???
Seriously, I will be staggered if the car's lines are actually that clean. And pleased. |

One thing that sorta annoys me about “car” guys talking about Supra is the price. They think that Toyota is going to release a $30k car lol. These “car” guys don’t understand how inflation works.
I love reading the comments like “if it’s over 30k I’m not buying!!!” |

The C7 is usually heavily discounted and probably represents the absolute ceiling of what people would pay for a Gazoo Cressida Corolla Supra. Much like the interminable lead up to the GT86 and NSX, the majority of the people that cared about this car five plus years ago when it started being teased have likely bought two or more cars since then and simply moved on. |

You still fail to realize my point.
My "20k in 1995" was a rhetorical thing. My POINT is the economy and inflation. What was once 20k in 1995 isn't 20K in PRESENT day. You see it all the time, people complaining about prices of cars. When in reality prices have been adjusted to inflation.

The problem for Toyota, or anyone really, is that a Corvette is $55k and generally has great incentives, and a Corvette and Mustang are significantly cheaper and offer impressive performance. The 370Z has been in that no mans land forever and barely sells. What magic act can Toyota bring to this fight that no one else has? The MkIV was an impressive car, but was a sales flop, like the 300Z, RX7 and Porkpie 3000GT. |

- The average price of a car in 1995 was $15,500. The average price for a car in 2017 is $33,600. - $15,500 in 1995, adjusted for inflation to 2017, is $24,896. So what accounts for that extra $8,700 or so? Many, many other things ranging from the extra cost of safety equipment (Exhibit A: air bags) to customer expectations of more standard equipment on a standard car (Exhibit A: Navigation) to the emergence of the lease's ability to get Joe Schmo into a 3 Series instead of, say, an Accord. People complaining about the price of cars nowadays either don't remember 1995, weren't born in the 1980s or later, or lament the relative simplicity of 1995. Basically: they only have themselves to blame.

What went wrong with the 370Z? IMO it got uglier and more expensive. |

I wonder if the new Supra release will affect the prices of the overpriced old Supras. I am thinking not, but I hope it does.

I don't think it will have much of an affect. The 1st gen NSX hasn't really gone down since the introduction of the new one.
