Ferrari and RB are too far ahead even with the Mercs' ceased bouncing, they still have to gain the ''lost pace'' which they won't have help from Fia

Max is a beast, he controlled those last 15 laps or so perfectly. He just jumped out of that hairpin, seemed to put .3-.4 tenths every time through the hairpin which negated DRS for Sainz.

I was wondering exactly this, Sainz would’ve had less than 20 laps to do on mediums after the SC

Charles was very lucky to get up to P5 having been stuck behind Ocon for so long and losing time to those ahead. Nothing else could be been done though, they couldn’t stop him too early or he’d have to do a two stopper

Mercedes had much more pace than i would have thought, that report they got tipped to the technical directive is looking awfully suspicious

Max has said the defining factor for him was his car's straight line speed over Sainz's which sidelined the Spaniards attempt for his first win even with the safety cars' intervention also and make no mistake Merc probably won't get a win this year.

I really thought Carlos was waiting until the last lap to take him so he couldn't be passed back under DRS. Exciting finish and good on Mercedes for getting back in the hunt.

If only they can resurrect themselves instead of having the FIA save them from their own inability to do it. I wasn’t a fan of their DAS taken away, that was very innovative, and I’m not a fan of them being saved now. The rules were set that all teams have to abide by so the FIA needs to stay the F out of the way and let the teams sort it out themselves

Truth is Sainz didn't have a chance of taking Max even when close up,the Honda PU and matchless aero of the RB is out of Ferrari's grasp.

Yeah . MAX was really unbeatable in the QF rain and in the race as well .
His onboard pole lap looks unreal in the rain !
