I'd rather push my M4 than drive a porch.

I'd rather push my Lambo than drive a fairy.

Location is overrated, overrated, overrated.

Living in the centre core/downtown is horrible.

Detached houses have too many avoidable concerns.

Trudat, although I'd sell it right away, I got no need for so much car.

I dunno about that guy insisting to call it a veranda. It's POR-SHA, dammit! Just like it's DobermanN. Ppl need to stop perverting names.

Agreed. Living downtown would be a nightmare for me. I don't get why some people feel the need to "be at the center of everything" and get excited about being downtown. Give me my suburbs with a big yard, driveway, patio, woods, shed, garage, freedom, happiness, space, etc.

Exactomundo, esp w the 'recent' phenomenon of beggars waiting at traffic lights. Just very off-putting. Knock wood, haven't seen that nuisance in the suburbs yet. High congestion, just more stressful w traffic and ppl all over the place. Yes, I sometimes like being around ppl, but not ALL the freaking time lol. Higher crime, etc, the list goes on.

You're starting to put a business case together here with getting a large estate out in the country with lots of acreage.

We live about 25 west of downtown Minneapolis. When we moved here there was some traffic but usually only during peak times. Now with all the new housing there is little space on the roads; not bumper to bumper stop and go traffic but enough where I feel like I can't go and rip on my car until I go a few miles out into the country. And there are several more large housing developments going in around us so it will get worse. We debate whether we buy a lake or other property to go escape too, or pack up and move our primary residence further out.

Definitely an unpopular opinion for me. I don't have the financial means to own the majority of Porsche or Ferrari models but I have been able to drive some of them on a track. They were amazing experiences. I got to drive one Lambo too.

What's your context for the Porsche and Ferrari hate? is it just a brand loyalty thing? Just curious.

It’s the way fairy and porch treat customers.

The way you have to cow tow and suck the German schnizil and the Modena cannoli to get a car.

No thanks, I have money and I’ll take it to where people want it and appreciate me too.

Retrogrouches and EV haters are soooo pissy and annoying. How many infantile threads are we gonna be polluted w here??

"I'm NEVA get an EV, nosirybob!"
"How is your EV doing in winter storms,, bet it's stuck at home!"
"Another EV blew up/caught fire."

Some of these ppl amazingly are actually adults...maybe some even have kids or grandkids, but they all sound lik 7 yr olds lol. You'd think they got all their money stuck in oil or something and can't pull it out smh.

I'll admit - I don't like EVs as my main car - I think they're completely soulless appliances.

That being said, I absolutely can see EVs as a 2nd/3rd car or if I want something luxurious. Also, I agree the irrational hate for EVs in general is just childish.

I don't know anyone who hates EVs, but I do know several people who are against EVs being pushed as the only option we should be able to purchase in the future, and many of them currently own EVs as second vehicles.

I guess I share that view. I don't hate EVs, but I'm not on board with them being pushed as the only option.

But I'm more talking about the aforementioned threads trying to smear EVs as a product.

No concerns with EVs here at a base level... I like the Tesla Model 3 driving experience... loads of TQ down low... seems like a really good DD... certainly not an enthusiast choice and the build quality is appaling but I can certainly see why someone would want one if they had convenient charging options.

Where EVs go awry is their initial intent or why we even came up with EVs which at the present time they are not serving and may arguably never serve... and the govt continues to push a completely false narrative at taxpayers expense.

Ya, I totally agree w that, makes me really nervous, it's just mind-boggling insane esp w the proposed deadlines/restrictions/etc. This is not simply switching from plastic to recycle bags at the grocers here

I don't believe EV's are less impactful to the environment long term. It's really a strategy to eliminate gas consumption (and the associated air pollution). If we don't have the fumes in our air then the earth will be better off is the logic, right? Ok......where are all these darn batteries going to go when they are end of life, and what is that going to do to the earth? Either way in order for large car companies to continue to exist and grow our economy, we will setup and support a system in which they are able to do that regardless of gas motors or EV's.

On the plastic bags topic: why can't there just be a blanket regulation everywhere that plastic bags shouldn't be handed out at stores? Customers bring your own bag, or use paper. Are we worried the big plastic bag companies will go out of business? Yeah, can't have that so lets just keep having billions of plastic bags distributed everywhere.....

In some US states I know there are restrictions but here in MN plastic bags are handed out like candy at halloween.

Right but none of that is possible unless everyone lives in a non fossil burning power grid... in other words everything has to be nuclear, wind or solar... in FL for example, 70% of our power is natural gas. EVs dont solve the issue here. In CA, non renewable exlcuding Nuclear is like 58%. lol
