The VivoBook i5 no doubt! If you're going for it, go all the way there. Weighs less, has better specs for sure and if you need repairs then it's way easier to sort. Trust.

I work for Asus so glad to see that they are your choice!

I do agree with the posters above, having an SSD is a huge difference .

Does Asus use white lists embedded in the BIOS firmware on what is allowed to be installed in the laptop? IE wireless NICs?

I’d go with the intel, but I think there are better options for the same or slightly more money. I love ASUS but feel they have been trying to corner the middle of the road market. I’d rather have a Surface Laptop, which is what I rock at work, and XP13 or a 13” MBP. I know those are more expensive but better built machines IMO.
