As for being stripped of your dignity.. lol, well.. its true, however, its not so much being rich and famous, its meeting people (networking). But, we'll see what happens.

This is what the "profile" said of the casting ppl
About me: Our casting directors are recruiting on MySpace! If we like your profile, we'll contact you with information on how you can schedule an audition. Our Casting Directors are currently conducting interviews in the Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale area. Los Angeles and San Diego are next! Who I'd like to meet: Sorry, we DON'T accept friend requests, and we don't accept unsolicited emails from people who want to be on the show. Anyone we're interested in meeting will receive an email with our contact info and instructions on how to apply. In other words, "don't call us, we'll call you."

Hahaha, my friend works for a talent agent in LA, maybe they can sign you like they signed that girl from Laguna Beach. They should do a Real World OC, The Real REAL OC.

I say don't do it. The business is extremely shady; you are a puppet to them. The show is about people going out and getting drunk every night, sleeping with each other and getting in to all sorts of Drama. It's called The Real World, yet there is nothing Real about it. It will open doors, but the wrong type of doors IMO.

requesting any personal info over the web, especially on myspace after all those recent privacy scandals on there, sound very phishy. you just may have given your phone number to a psycho freak that masturbates to pictures of any girl on myspace. those shows already have millions of people trying to audition, why would they go online to look for more?
but hey, if it works out, we're all gonna see you making out with guys on TV no seriously, positives of getting on a big show like that are countless so if it doesn't sound fake to you, you should definitely go for it!

Just don't do the Real World/Road Rule battle or that Inferno show, those people are just sad. They were on the real world like 10 years ago and they're still trying to hang on to their 5 min of fame.

Unless you'd like to do PR in the entertainment domain - couldn't hurt to give it a try. Like you already said, you may be able to get some networking down.
Also seems like the girls on these shows have it the worst, as they're usually the victims of all kinds of funky drama (they for sure will have a queen bitch on the show, like always). The guys seem to have a good time, though. Just go to the audition. If they make you an offer, that's when you start dwelling on it and begin to make your final decision. They may never take you in the end, making you all antsy for no reason. I do agree with Stew that the show usually strips the dignity from most of its cast members. You'll go through humiliation and trust me on this - the production crew will make you look bad if they want you to look bad (e.g. Amarossa on The Apprentice - does it not strike anybody that she truly is a kind person in real life?). That's the power of the production crew. They literally puppeteer you and can show you how they want to show you on TV. That goes with all 'reality' shows. Amen. Time to go back to work. EDIT: Vlad has a really good point. I never considered the family/friends issue but they for sure will look at you funny from all that drama/'reality' crap.

I know Bella and I just can't see her on that show. She is not that type of girl.
Antonella if you want to do it go for it, you have my support and best wishes. I just don't like seeing my friends get hurt, especially by some sleaze ball "MTV" guy who saw your myspace profile and decided that your looks were good enough to warrant an interview for the show. |

I see your point. The only reason i thought it was legit is cause they said you can bring a parent with you. And they didnt ask for my address, bday..etc. They only asked for my name, #, and email. And if it is some lunatic...well i can just change my cell # haha.
