This. There is already a major shortage of state troopers in FL so they have far more cars than cops. I waited an hour for one after getting rear-ended last month on the Palmetto and they never showed up before the other driver and I exchanged information and were on our way.

I'm guessing if you break your car you don't get the day off, just drive another one.

I remember when I was probably around eight my mom took me to drop something off to my dad while he was at work. I remember asking him why he drove around with his window half down. It was freezing out! He said it was so he could hear people crying for help. For whatever reason that has always stuck with me.

One other memory is a the first time I ever saw him cry. It was at an awards banquet. He received a special comindation medal/award from the chief and mayor. A person was threatening to kill themselves and my dad was one of the first on the call. The person had two handguns on the bed next to them. My dad went into the room and talked the person off the ledge so to speak. At one point he quickly lied down on the bed, on top of the guns, to put himself between the guns and the guy. Possibly saved a life that day.

I obviously am biased but I see all of the good....a lot of it.

With that being said I got my fair share of speeding tickets when I was younger that is for sure. I did deserve them though.

Hi. Serious question...

Is FL doing a big push for hiring to fill those ranks...?

I ask because I'm 4 years away from retirement as a relatively young man and my current employment experiences makes me a pretty decent candidate for starting another career in law enforcement.

Thanks in advance

I believe so. I knew about it because it was in the local news recently and they talked about increasing recruiting efforts.

Who gives a fuck what someone once said. His point was that the post was racist, which it clearly was.

Thank again.

It's gonna be an adjustment financially, but hopefully I can rack up a lot of overtime to make up for my "toys" addiction.

If I were to get hired, I would do the two year grind then at the first opportunity, transfer to a specialized unit... I would have a difficult time harassing people just for having a little fun on those nice shiny roads down in FL, but a job is a job. Albeit a temporary assignment.

:thanks :

Then if my patrol car gets towed and the OP laughs at me, I can just use my bike to flash him for hogging up the fast lane, lol.

I'm only going to get offended if someone says I am white trash because I like to eat Frosted Flakes.

At first I was feeling like this thread should get stomped. But it turns out to be one of those great karmic things where people get what they deserve rather than what they want. Like one of my old mentors used to say, it all comes out in the wash....

Here we have OP who is such a flaming troll that he can't keep his nastiness confined to just cops and he blurts out random racist crap at the drop of a hat. But the end result? Looks like he has helped Samurai of 2day become another Florida traffic cop, and one who might just be on the special lookout for a mineral grey 135i e88. Nice work guy. Perhaps you want to also flame some other group you are likely to regret (penile implant specialists?, toupee stores?, BMW technicians?, etc.).
