The Good:
+ Crisp design.
+ More modern.
+ More agressive.
+ Nice wheels.

The Bad:
- Inner headlight design feels unfinished. Looks like an afterthought imo.
- Traditional grille is out of place on the new design language. Needs the big fat star a la C-Class w/ the sports package.
- Tail got ripped straight off a Sonata. Trunk lid design is weak.
- Sides are generic.
- Rear fender crease isn't as pronounced as I had hoped it would be.
- Foglight design is laughable.

The Neutral:
+/- The front bumper.

Agree on nearly everything except the fact that I think official pics and real-life shots will be much better.

I also agree on the star grille like the C-class, it needs it. I think the only car that should stay traditional is the S-class. Even at that it should have the optional star grille. I prefer them SO SO much more!

It's funny how Lexus copied off Mercedes when they first came out and now Mercedes is copying off Lexus.
Ironic.

Looks horrible, but then again the pictures don't do it justice. I bet it'll grow on most once it's officially out.

Honestly don't like it at all!! Maybe it will grow on me. But so far so bad. This is not always the case with me, for instance, I love the M3 Coupe and E92 from the first moment.

As is the norm I suppose. I'd like to see it in official photo-guise, and moving too, considering that that seems to be the requirement for most modern cars nowadays that are so light-dependent in their designs.

Those inner headlights are really bothering me though...

Ironic.
The thing is that automakers the world-over are toning down their designs in the name of sales. Lexus just happens to make inherently boring/generic cars already, so other makes are going to start to look more like Lexus's I guess.

I sort of feel the same way! I am a big MB fan and this, at least as I see it in these pics, is a dissapointment.

I like the current E better if this is the real deal. The grille in these pics is terrible, and the taillights suck.

Performance-wise, if it's anything like the current model, will be great. I drove the E63 the other day and I'm still drooling.

The tail lights look like they came from an Accord. The front headlight is just too GS.... I know Mercedes would like to get away from the more fluid body line, but those headlights just don't cut it. If they are going to do the square headlights, I'd prefer the W124 style instead.
