Depends... Is the lead car passing the one in the right lane, regardless of the speed differential?

If you're going faster than me then you're REALLY trying to break the law, I'm getting out of your way fellow villain.

But seriously the passing lane is for passing, which 99% of the drivers don't seem to understand because in the US anyone with a pulse gets a license. I wish that we had stricter rules when it comes to that

I loath driving in Texas because you have billybob or skeeter in his fucking pickup going 5 below in the fast lane. One would think they would be more cognizant of the fast line since it's TEXAS but no sir. Phoenix, Oklahoma etc is normally fine.

If someone is going faster than me, I just let them pass, like others said I'm already going quicker than most cars, if you want to tank the cops for me have fun.

Yup, and I bet you 99% of drivers don't even know they should keep to the right-most lane and only progressively go onto the next lane(s) if they wish to go faster in accordance to their speed relative to the rest of traffic, and this applies for both highways and reg roads...but we see ppl moseying along on all lanes at various random speeds.

You apparently have your own answer already. Did you post hoping for validation?

If a car is going faster, regardless of make, model, class of car, move over as soon as its safe. Blocking a car that wants to go faster while in the passing lane creates a dangerous situation. Let a$$hats do their thing. Law enforcement, physics, and/or karma will get them eventually.

If this logic is not working for you, I suggest you stay off the autobahn.

Do you change lanes immediately or do you get pissed and let him / her pass you? Keep in mind they don't give you anytime to move over...they just start riding your ass immediately.
Just move over when you can. In Germany they get out the way quick when someone approaches fast well beforehand.

It's called an askhole. Someone who asks for advice but then does what they want anyway.

OP should stop being the left lane police and hanging out in the left lane. Put your ego aside and GTFO of the way.

Itsn't there a Luda song about this? It goes something like this:

“Move b**ch, get out the way
Get out the way, b**ch, get out the way”

In other words get the hell out of the way of faster traffic. No matter what they drive. Standard rule of traffic. The fact you’re experiencing rectal discomfort because someone was going faster is irrelevant.

This is entirely situational. There are times that 90 in a 65 is perfectly fine, and times when it's not. A blanket "chill at 65" isn't the answer, and isn't going to happen.

I frequently drive roads in perfect weather with the sun on my back, super light traffic and huge sight distances with no turn on's or off's. I could easily cruise at 110 most of the time, but I'm a good little boy and drive 7 over. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be safe to drive 40 over.

Conversely, in the school drop-off line this morning, in what's supposed to be a single file line, you've got people driving around cars once their kid is out, and that carries the real possibility of hitting a child. THAT'S dangerous.

Pull the e-brake, do a 180, pop it in reverse so that you’re face to face with the other driver. Show them who’s alpha.

Or pull to right and let them pass.

Sorry but how does what's happening behind you impact your ability to move over? Is it because you are going 25 MPH faster than the rest of traffic and now cant slow to merge in? Well, you sir have created a situation that's unsafe for everyone around, compounded by some other guy whose doing the same shit you are, only faster. Both of you guys are assholes.

Move over. What difference does it make what car they are driving? You don't yield to better cars than yours or only super cars - you yield to faster traffic. You (and me) expect people to yield the lane to you, so you (and I) should do the same.

If everyone works to keep the left lane as open as possible - everyone wins. If you only yield to "better" cars, or wait till a car turns off their cruise and loses all their speed, etc to move over - those people are the problem. If no one is right of you, move over. It's pretty simple, but more and more people each year seem to think the left lane belongs to them. Makes driving terrible. Americans are some of the worst at it.

1-I am always in my mirrors and aware of whats going on so I would move over.
2-People in Florida shoot each other over road rage so, again I'm moving over
3-I pass and then immediately get over unless there are more people I am actively passing.

Not to beat a dead horse, but move over. Regardless of your speed or the vehicle, they are going faster, and therefor you move over. It's illegal in many states to not move over from the left lane, regardless of speed. Unfortunately this is never enforced.

I'm usually moving faster than everyone else (1-2mph) and I prefer to drive in the left lane most of the time simply because it usually gives me clear view farther down the highway when no one is in front of me (I also hate moving back and forth between lanes every 20 seconds.), but as soon as I see someone approaching from behind I move over, and I try to make sure I move over well before they are ready to pass.

I'm going to add a little more to the scenario because I go thru this often on a drive I make a few times a week.

You're on a residential street with 4 lanes, you need to turn left a few minutes ahead, you're going the speed limit + 5 to 10 mph, traffic is heavy. And there are often police with radar on the street.

If you move to the right for the person you're likely to miss your chance to turn left and have to go beyond and turn around to come back to the turning you missed.

Do you move over and have to find a way to double back, do you speed up and risk getting pulled, do you let the person get high blood pressure until they can get around you on the right?

theres always exceptions, and at least with me if I get irritated at someone in front of me going slow and find they are turning, I brush it off and charlie mic. The distance that that is "ok" in my book varies by location. Po-dunk USA where even in heavier traffic you still have plenty of opportunity to move over as you get closer to your turn, then you don't need to do so 5 miles prior. Busy metropolitan areas where no one lets you over? Yeah, might need to move over sooner.

I have great disdain for "I'm not moving over unless it's for a supercar" mindset.

It's the same mentality this Porsche driver had. If it wasn't for the McLaren Senna, I would have been stuck behind him the rest of the lap, and half the next one. This is how one idiot car ruin your track day. On track or on the street, just MOVE OVER for faster traffic.
