Glad you're happy with the pressure washer!
I was looking into the VE52 several years ago, but had a perfectly working pressure washer at the time that just didn't have TSS so it made me a bit itchy to look for something better. At the time I started scoping the market, the VE52 was $140 (without much internet presence short of a handful of YT videos) and it was $130 for a very long time, until OG showcased it on his channel as the new, "best budget pressure washer" over the Karcher. At that point, it went up to $170 one month before the video was uploaded. I had it price tracked still using Honey lmao. I've watched it slowly go up to the $250 it's at now, although some of that could just be inflation and supply chain problems due to COVID. I'm curious what work went into the 2.0. The VE52 was already a 5 piston pump from the get go with the same 1800 PSI + 2GPM specs so probably improved internals? End of the day, I have no doubt it's a good pressure washer for the price but it kinda feels like some price hike bs was going on before it was marketed to a targeted community for more exposure Last edited by louielouie; 09-30-2022 at 02:12 AM.. |

The resin is composed of cations and anions which individually pull positive and negative ions from the water to soften it/produce spot free water. Mixed bed combines the cations and anions together while dual keeps them separate. The gallons of spot free water is more per canister with dual bed vs mixed bed but to do this, you'd either need to purchase dual bed resin from companies like On the Go, and Pure Aqua or use a refresh system to break them apart. I personally have refreshed my resin twice now and although it's incredibly cheap (maybe $10 per refresh?) and it lasts exactly the same amount of time as brand new does, you're going to be working with caustic chemicals to do this. You can also use the smaller carbon/sediment filters to extend the life of the overall system but I'm unclear on how much life this actually adds. I used to wash my car every weekend with the CR Spotless only for the final wash, and I got about 6 months of use out of it before the meter starting it's upward ppm tick This is with LA water, and in my area out of the hose, it measured about ~120 ppm which is moderate hardness. |

How far under are we talking about? I would bump myself $30 and get an Active VE56. Nobody cares about pressure when washing a car. You want gallons per minute. You want flow. You want more cleaning units. 1,000 PSI is more than enough for a car. It's the 2.0GPM that you want.
The Active VE56 is the best pressure washer in that price range. If its too much money, just save up for it, because, you're really wasting your time getting anything less. In the video, Matt describes the VE as the king of entry level pressure washers. This video is a little older, the new king of entry level, is Active 2.0. But it's in the $330 range. In the $350 to $750 range, it would be the Active 2.0. Over $730 and it would be the AR Blue Clean AR630TSS. In the $1,000 to $1,300 range, I would get the Kranzle, all day long. Honestly I was on the fence about getting a pressure washer and decided to pass for now. Spent the money on a DI system so I could just rinse, blow dry and be done. I have used a pressure washer and didn’t see any benefit over wash time or quality. Granted this wasn’t a Kranzle or other premium pressure washer but I couldn’t see the value added. Now the DI, that’s 100% a time saver. You don’t even have to dry the car if you don’t want to. Refilling the DI is pricey but the time you save not having to towel dry is worth it. You can even rinse in full sun without fear of water spots. Things I’d spend money on before the pressure washer are ceramic coating, DI system, good pH neutral soap, and decent washing mitts. Oh, I would also recommend a good retractable hose reel. You don’t have to spend big money on an expensive pressure washer to get a good looking, clean car. Just my .02 though.

Anyreason, we cant use this? Looks like a steal @ $140 on BB for black friday. The GPM is 1.2, but doesnt that mean less waste water?

This is a 2.0gpm pressure washer, at work. You're not getting this kind of work done with a 1.2gpm pressure washer.

"I think to put it in perspective, you would be spending 36 gallons for using it for 30 min, vs 60 gallons for the same. So thats a huge difference on water usage. Just my 2 cents." 1. Since we're putting things into perspective, and in every comment is about hugging a tree, to save a gallon of water, realize that you're talking about "actual trigger" time, and not how long it takes you to wash the car. So, go outside, and hook everything up, and pull the trigger and set your stop watch. How much actual time are you holding the pressure washer trigger? 30 minutes? No... 5 if you even make it that long. 5 full minutes of holding the trigger down, non stop. 10 gallons, vs 6. 2. 2,000 psi, if the Greenworks is even making 2,000 psi, which it isn't. Watch the video I will be posting below. The 2,000 PSI is flow rated by strapping just the motor to a test bench, and hooking the testing lines directly to the inlet and outlet of the motor, which, that's not how the pressure washer is used. Its assembled into the pressure washer, and you use a 25' hose, on an average pressure of 40 psi coming from your actual hose bib, when the testing equipment can run any pressure they want to run, to get the 2,000 psi. 3. 2,000 actual psi at 1.2gpm, would blow the paint off of your car, and the pressure washer companies know this. They aren't going to sell you something that's going to blow your paint off the car. You need 1,000 psi at 2.0gpm, that measures in real world cleaning units.
