a retirement... diversified portfolio, but I'd wait for some more free-fall first.

Mom and dad have always wanted a Mercedes SUV, they're old and get first crack at a new dream car. Then RUF or maybe a lower mileage clone of my current M3.

Realistically, I would probably put the money to better use, but if I was 'forced' to buy a vehicle (poor me, having an extra $1M lying around and having to consider some exotics lol), probably some kinda compact snowmaggedon AWD.

Then I would buy/import a manual e38 728i and turbo it. |

Same here. I can't imagine driving a car even close to a million and the only car I'd be willing to pay a fortune for (Gullwing SL) is more than a million in many cases.
I'd definitely do a Conti Coupe or Cab or probably an SLS. |

Was fortunate enough to spend time with an SLS. Gives me a chance to post my picture

"Money shift" and "$1M supercar" is something you don't want in the same sentence.

I am getting close to retirement but I think what I’d do would be buy a garage that allows me to store more cars and then buy something like an AMG GT, then put the rest into my retirement savings.

I'd legit not spend a penny of a $1m windfall on cars at this point in my life, but since that's a boring answer…
Best car in that range is the 765LT. I miiiight be able to buy one at current ADM pricing with that money net of taxes. |
