The view from the "Office" this morning. Ok, so I wasn't in the "Office". I had to walk about 50ft to get the right angles.

A couple shots from a camp trip last fall in Upstate SC. I think all three of these were taken from the same spot, just 90° increments.

The farmers are harvesting soybeans. It puts a shit ton of dust in the air. Wifey's eyes have been driving her nuts because she can't wear her contacts. But it does make for some interesting sunsets.

I saw the northern lights last night. I couldn't take a picture because I was driving, but it looked like this picture.

I'm in San Marcos; off the 3rd hole of Twin Oaks golf course. I went out about 10 'til 7 and saw "the wall."

Directly southeast of San Marcos on Monday evening, above 'the wall' at Double Peak Park:

I’ve played that course in a charity scramble many years ago, and lived in Discovery Hills for 4 years. The fire in 2014 got to about 100 yards from my house. Mother Nature can be a different kind of mother at times. Love SM!

It was a sad and scary day. For 3 days the Santa Ana winds had been howling out of the East, and in Carlsbad to the West of us local fire fighters had been fighting as hard as they could. I was at work in Encinitas and out of my office window about 3:30 I could see a little plume of smoke popping up East of our house. Uh oh. It took me about 20 minutes to get home, and by then the fire had gone unchecked and was a rager. Mrs H and our boys had gotten home about 10 minutes before I did where they found that our bulldog Pebbles had passed away. They loaded up computers and important documents that we keep in a fire box, I had a quick cry and then loaded Pebbles in my car to take to the vet for cremation. Then we bailed. My son took that pic looking down our street. Later I met them down the hill in a safe zone at a restaurant. About a half hour later, the Santa Ana winds died, and an onshore breeze started. It was a miracle, as it pushed the fire back on itself. We went back home about an hour later, and stayed home for 3 days as the Sheriff’s had locked down the neighborhood. If we left, they wouldn’t have let us back in. Spent those 3 days watching helicopters dip water out of Discovery Lake. Never want to do that again!

^ Sounds very scary, Hubba. Glad you guys were safe. Sorry about your dog. That picture looks like it could win some kind of an award.
