I actually don’t mind the car but there is an important question to ask. What defines Motorsport? You could potentially make an M bus but doesn’t that make the term Motorsport pointless? Maybe this M5 hasn’t crossed that line yet but at what weight and size does M become a joke?

This car is close to perfect for its intended buyer. The executive who wants luxury and to feel special but when they want to take out some business frustration and stress out on the car they can.
Close to zero buyers in the target market will drift outside a skid pan. Nearly all new BMW models are hated these days, but like the G80 and G82 these will sell like crazy to their intended market. Nothing is perfect but IMO BMW have almost nailed this, again at their target market.

He is no longer working on BMWs and that is what is relevant here. he is going to rolls royce. which is great, because I want BMWs to look good again.

That’s more accurate. Really just 1 new guy though. IMO this shuffling around was more a matter of routine rather than in reaction to any sentiment from the public. Hooydonk is still the design boss. Things are always changing and we’re already seeing that with the NK cars (which were designed years ago), so yes the design language will change. That would’ve happened whether we liked it or not.
