Today the FIA meets about some very controversial governing decisions, taking away some power from individual control comissions that can correct the leadership (on financial decisions etc) and place that control at the leadership (Ben Sulayem) itself....

George Russell being the GPDA director has already pointed out quite a number of things the drivers are not happy with including barring the wearing of personal jewellery, (politically lettered t shirts is understandable), the ever mounting on track rules being introduced seemingly at a minutes notice particularly concerning overtaking with time and points penalties for selected infractions and language being spoken in the heat of the moment being just a few of the things.
So if some of the advisory bodies to the FIA are also being downgraded or even scrapped then under the GPDA the drivers do have a right to strike after taking a vote, if things go too far,

Too bad they left RB hanging high and dry on engines for 2026 and then ticked them off by reverting after RB had already figured out another solution, doubting anyone at RB has any desire to appease Honda.

I don't think Tsunoda would be a good teammate for Max. Max needs a veteran who is happy to play second fiddle. Bottas is honestly the best person without a contract, imo. But I still think we'll keep getting a kit-kat infusion, with a potential mid-season swap possible.

I don't think he needs Bottas as a "guardian", but more just as someone who is mature and understands his place on the team. Like Checo seems to now. When Max has had an ambitious teammate, it has never gone well. He even clashed quite a bit with Checo when they had a car that Checo liked and he was occasionally winning. Checo isn't there, and I think has moved on from that mentality. Apparently he's accepted having a different car from Max. Bottas knows what it's like to be #2 to a champion and would be happy to be back in that place.

But yeah, I don't think Checo is going anywhere yet. Especially with all of the Checo promotions they've done on their social media pages as of late, I think they're trying to calm the waters a bit. Unfortunately I think the media is going to keep going on this, because clearly the F1 community is polarized on the issue and is interacting with their posts. Maybe a mid-season driver change if the RB21 remains out of Checo's comfort zone.
