Pretty smooth transition overall IMO.

I stuck my head into a few of the general forums and came running back though. I think I'll just stick to the 1 Specific forums, and tech stuff, and leave the rest of it alone for a while.

By the way....how the hell did I become a Lieutenant Colonel? That's almost an insult to a former enlisted Marine!

Most everything went smooth. Other than my sig issue but that was fixed pretty quickly. The one thing i noticed about the loss of your subscribed threads. If someone replies to a thread and it was a question, none of the original posters will get notified. Probably causing that someone to open a new thread. And I know we don't want that

The 1Addicts site feels pretty farging familiar to me. I'm amazed at the amount of work (largely) Mark has put into this, and major kudos to him for trying to make the bimmerpost inclusion of 1addicts as painless as possible.

I think a lot of people were thinking that there would be a stampede of people coming in here to mock the 1 , and change our experience. I do not see that happening.

The moderators are trying to make it feel as 1addictly as possible, and will continue to do so. So far, we haven't had to do much to make it feel familiar.

Soooo.... What's your take?
I believe the absence of 1 hate is due largely to other forum members( e90, 5, 7, X, Z) having finally accepted their rides are not exactly beauty queens either.

First few hours after the merge were a bit different mostly due to the extra Bimmerpost General Forums, other than that, I felt right at home.

A huge thank you goes to Mark for pulling this thing off as smoothly as he did. Thanks again, Mark.

I am very happy with the merge and all involved admins + mods did a great job! I am enjoying the new features like the BMW garage very much and love to browse through E90Post directly. I am also pleased to see old friends from E90Post and the merge of my two usernames from E90Post and 1Addicts was also successfully and took about one second..

All in all: Great work and it feels for me like 1Addicts before for me!

I know the content is mostly the same and the members are mostly the same, but to me it's not the same place. It's like your favorite restaurant, the one with the unique menu that catered to a like-minded set of customers you came to know, got bought out by a chain. Maybe nothing major changes at first except the name, but it's not that unique place you were looking for.
Understand, I bought a 1 and not a 3.

I kinda feel the same way. Though everything is relatively the same, it's all still. . different. It's not necessarily a bad thing though, it just kinda feels like someone came into your house and moved everything a foot to the left haha
at the end of the day its still "home" though
Good job guys!

No problem everyone, there are still usernames that are out of whack so i'm working on fixing those round the clock and if you are one of the people with a username issue (or any other issue) please don't hesistate to PM me! Todays project involves getting a new server to attach so that we can add more speed then before. The old 1addicts server was on its death bed and was overloaded so I want to improve on that now. Should be done by tommorow morning

Great Job

As I go through my favorite websites every morning, 1addicts always was something to look forward to. The moderators and administrators have always done a killer job, and looks like "The Song Remains the Same"...All posters(most anyway) are above everything else mature, and extremely informative...I've learned lots about my favorite addiction on here.

Merging looks like it's a plus so far. I get to see a lot more of all things BMW....

Just an observation: 1addicts(owners) seem to be much happier people than other Bimmer owners. I'd like to see a psychological breakdown on here eventually. Seems fun people own the 1, whereas some of the other models' owners are of the mindset of "mine is bigger than yours"...Maybe I'm wrong...

In any case, great job before, and looks like great work now. I'm proud to be a part of this.............

Terrible!!!

Now instead of spending about 2 hours a day on 1Addicts, I am spending more time browsing the other forums that are easily accessible!!

Good thing my wife hasn’t noticed yet.

i agree that for the most part you can't tell a difference, which is great. but there are 2 things that i noticed that bug me... the links at the top, i.e. User CP and New Posts have turned dark blue for me, on a black background it makes it hard to see. and when viewing on my Blackberry i now have all these new headers i have to scroll through, which is a pain.

other than that, it's gravy baby...

I love the fact that I don't have to login to get into the other sites. One stop shop!

Seem to be happier? SEEM? You have a gift for understatement, SK. If 1Addicts wasn't the happiest BMW site on the Web, I don't know what was!

For me, that's exactly what made the merger look so scary. The consensus was that we had an awful nice "balance" in place, with just the right bunch of folks (and maybe just the right car models, too). The merger carried with it the possibility of upsetting that balance... which, thanks to a lot of hard work and diplomacy, hasn't yet happened.

Our happy gang of 1ers had a certain chemistry before, and it looks like it's still there. The Fun Bunch rides on!

Loved being on our own, but not too bad. Transition went smooth, but I wish we had a 1 series button on the top somewhere. Just have to click a few more buttons to get where I was before the changes.

ehh still not a fan as I liked having our own community.. but I guess I'll adjust...

in retrospect, it would have been nice to have an e-mail to say we were going down vs just taking the site down.. that was sort of a bummer.. .then check back and it says 10 more hours...

our name says it all - addict... so we ALL had withdraw
