tell them... you know this aint your ordinary MB, nor an ordinary AMG... this is a freaking DTM car, it has recorded a quicker time on the Nurburgring than any production bmw in existance including the Road version of the M3 GTR... (slower than Race M3 GTR though)... this car will run circles around the bloated piggies: the M5 and M6

whatever man. it's no use convincing BMW guys that feel that BMW's are the best cars in the world that they aren't. not all BMW owners are that way. but a lot are. trust me, i used to be that guy... despite having had an E39 M5, E60 M5, E46 ZHP.... and soon a 335i. i had the revelation when i bought an S2000 and it made every BMW i had feel like a hyundai elantra ( you probably don't even have those in belgium) in the handling department. i hate mercedes, and i don't think it's the best car in the world, but it's certainly marvelous.

check some of the threads ive created in this subforum. I have owned a e46 m3, e90 330i, X5 3.0d, 745li, 730d... i was truly commited to BMW until i tried the new S500, and i thought that outhandled its BMW rival by quite a margin... And then i went to germany to test CLS55/CLS63/SL55/M5/M6. What i got is in my signature.

Anyways what im trying to say its that this isnt a Mercedes, this is a DTM car. The only thing mercedes on this car is the BADGE, everything else is bespoke and for racing only

mercedes, especially AMG's... are really stepping up their game, they have to. i still don't think they are on par. incl AMG's. to BMW's.... especially in the fit and finish department. my boss has an E500, S500, and CLS500.... but like you said, this car is in a COMPLETELY different league.

I think 0700700 will agree with me on this... If we realy are talking about the BEST car in the world in every aspect, i think hands down it would have to be the Fangio beast...

Mercedes-Benz AMG 12 cylinder V 60°, 48 valves; displacement 7291 cc.
Max. Power: (kW) hp/rpm: (443) 602/6150.
Max. Torque: Nm/rpm 760/4000.

until the CLS was released (end of 2004) i would agree. Later cars especially the SL facelift have had much improved interiors. Trust me, step from the CLS55's interior into an M5 and youd wonder where all your money went
