As much as I'd really love for that to be true, Blue, I have to say the materials aren't all they're cracked up to be once you sit in one. The design is fine as I stated previously; very elegant, with some interesting yet restrained lines going on, but the materials look and feel cheap once you run your hand over or get a good look at them. The leather gets all wadded up, the cloth/alcantara seat inserts don't stack up to other examples I've felt, and the seats themselves, while supportive, are on the squishy side. The dash materials are the biggest shortcoming imo.

Not dissing the car as a whole. It's fucking brilliant, and definitely competitive. It just isn't a leader by any margin on the interior front imo.

Basically, this.

Have to agree , I sat in it in the autoshow and was really disappointed. The seats didn't feel good at all , and the dash was OK.

i drive a 335i m sport and e92 m3. 335i is almost as quick in traffic if not quicker because there is no lag or delay, where as in the M3, you need to punch it to get going. Besides the m3's track performance and that extra driver involvement feeling, the 335i appears much more subtle and easier to live with. I can't say the M3 is an ideal daily car as it guzzles fuel like crazy even when standing still. I have upgraded the ecu on the 335i and now it burns even less. To be specific; 9L-9.5L per 100 km vs previous 9.9L-10.5L per 100km and canes the M3 on the straight. Unless you go to track days and really need a limited slip...

Haha man. People clearly don't pay attention to the last post date in threads.

$19K sounds pretty optimistic for a trade in value on an 07 with almost 75K miles on them especially given that the car is thought of as being problematic. You might want to verify what you'll be getting for trade in before making the mental purchase of something else only to be disappointed by your trade in value.
