But I agree, these things happen. It's just upsetting and disappointing that instead of the best racing ever, we have an entertainment spectacle.

We had more social media posts and poses of Lewis and Charles dressed in racing ready gear, and now we see that they literally did no practice or prep at all until literally a week before the season starts. I want to blame Ferrari, but this is a FIA and F1 issue - lack of a proper offseason and training.

F1 is purely entertainment and anything resembling a true motorsport will die here.
Main requirement of any Ferrari driver, including Hamilton: Italian is the internal work language. Schumacher coped fairly well with the language. Kimi and Vettel struggled with the language. Hamilton was used throughout all of his career to communicate in his native tongue. That has changed. The Ferrari team will communicate as much as possible in English with him, but the 100% English is gone.

Even the legendary boss Enzo Ferrari neither spoke nor understood English. An insight by Niki Lauda about pride and honor at Ferrari. Niki describing the encounters with Enzo Ferrari as if you're there - he had balls:

I agree to a point, this is all down to Liberty turning it into too much of a show spectacle with all the hype that goes with it, I'm just interested in the racing and its prep.

Interesting at that in the early seventies how Lauda had to barter with EF to get even the same amount of wages as Peterson was getting after making the red tub much faster, Lauda didn't have a manager in those days as the drivers do now (whimps) learning the negotiating speak from his banker father.
Obviously Enzo saw drivers as a disposable necessity that should be happy just to drive his Ferrari's than actually pay them for the pleasure, never mind that he found someone with a brain and gusto that looked him in the eye and to tell him where it's really at in such a way as was amicably possible.

Enzo Ferrari was quite a character:

Minimalism maxed out for weight-saving reasons on the "Enzo" (a couple of features pointed out by Harry Metcalfe):

What? Hamilton has spent more time testing (TPC), and simulation time than any other driver on the grid. Apparently he was at the factory 14 hours a day. It's not for lack of preparation AT ALL.
