So apparently there is a discord channel with 70k users that basically pump and dump cryptos..... If an average user has 5k to trade...imagine what kind of damage they are doing....They can manipulate any of the top 50-1000 alts and do major damage for financial gain.

Although i never put any thought into it, i am not surprised. If it goes on in wall street, it sure as hell goes on here. It is just more accessible over the internet.

With all the hype, it's essentially treated as OTC.

whales and FUD and FOMO sensitive newbs who listen to people like McAfee probably do more damage than those discords, but the whole market is super prone to manipulation

Currently still trying to verify one of my accounts on a bunch of different exchanges/websites. Have not bought 1 cryptocurrency share yet. Pretty frustrated at this point but I'm hoping a couple things come through the next 48 hours.

Sorry to hear that hopefully you'll be fully verified soon. Ripple nearing $3, but will go a lot higher at least $10.

based on...? I hear a lot of people make claims that really don't know anything except for what everyone else is saying.

Based on the platforms I really could see either Ethereum or Ripple being more widely used out of the ones I have researched. That doesn't really give any indication on it's potential price though. Most people are just saying a number that is right above what they are going to dump at

If Ripple is going to get much higher it will need to address the whole 20 Ripple non refundable wallet cost. I have heard talk about it lowering when the price hits certain points, but nothing from the company/creators.

My opinion is that Ripple is worth what people are willing to pay for it. Simple as that. Are air jordans worth 400 dollars a pair to you? Maybe not, but probably for some people. If it goes on coinbase, hype alone will double the value. The fact that it has lower fees and faster transaction times is also nice too

Exactly, and what is the thought that people should/would be willing to pay 10 bucks a ripple? $200 non refundable fee just to open a wallet would probably deter some newer investors.

Like I said this is just hype and Coinbase will either require you to start a new wallet to use it (another 20 XRP) or try and add functionality of you adding your own XRP wallet. XRP is interesting because it charges you for every different wallet, and a wallet is obviously something you won't want to buy used so there will be no benefit to having more than one and no value to one should you not want it anymore. It is truly sunk cost in it's current model.

I find it more likely that Coinbase would add a currency that was easier on their end, there are plenty to choose from.

Having said that, based on the model I would not be surprised if a major bank/CC company adopted Ripple as it would work very well in a model like that.

I signed up a long time ago, but just never start using them until recently. Glad I did.

There's an article on Forbes about Ripple billionaires (although these are all execs at Ripple, not exactly rags to riches). Ripple at $3.60 at last check! Already making mucho $$'s. If I invest more I could easily be a multi-millionaire before long myself!

Keep investing! If you would have put $500K into TRX yesterday, you'd be a millionaire today.
