Ive owned to many cars to count but as of right now (I just sold my Camaro) i own the bmw and camry. My favorite daily so far was my 350z though.

Below 300 is just too damn slow. I don't see how people think that's enough power for them.

It's not the size of the boat, but the motion in the ocean.

Power to weight ratio of around 12lbs/bhp is fast enough for most driving/passing situations...so 290-300 bhp. Most luxury SUVs have a higher weight to power ratio and they have plenty of power to pass and drive at a brisk pace. So assuming the OP is concerned about having enough to be able to pass but not be guzzling gas, in essence the right balance for a daily driven car, think around that 12/1 weight/power ratio works pretty well.

In the past I've owned some pretty big power stuff but in the last 10 years or so as long as it's at better than 10lbs per hp with me in it I'm ok. That's usually enough to have some fun if the chassis is worth a damn.

The 250hp in plenty heaps already for a DD. Most of the time when stuck in traffic it'll be like 40km - 70km, max! Recently got a speeding fine for doing 64 in and 60KM zone....

Though, I will still purchase a M3 for the engine, exhaust note and chassis of the car.

I would agree with this, Im around 9 lbs per hp and very happy with a (mostly) reliable car that doesnt push the capacity of the mechanicals and also gets around 30 mpg if I stay out of it on the highway (which never seems to happen). You spend most of your time in your daily so it should be something that gets the blood pumping.

True... must be for entry-level Mustangs and Camaros (aka pony cars).

I used to have a diesel smart that came with 48 hp, but had it tuned to around 90 hp. Never had any problems with that.

(cheap jab at people who think you need 800 hp for a daily driver....)

If you know how to drive, any amount is OK for a daily.

Special instructions for Sanders voters when preparing to turn in guns. It is important to clear the chamber.

1. Cock gun.
2. Place barrel in mouth.
3. Pull trigger.

(Someone else will handle the rest of the steps for you.)

*I kid.

Don't you think it's just so boring though? Long Island driving is mostly 0 - highway speeds so that's a determining factor for me.
