I drove a DCT in an E90 M3 and it behaved oddly, also. You could like, blip the throttle before starting the move forward, it did roll a bit on inclines, etc. There was no brake resistance on flat ground.

He did say that the DCT was horrid in traffic though, on the test drive; jumpy, sputter, sensitive throttle. Of course, I know the Sport & Sport+ modes are not adequate for traffic, most likely.
You have to know how to drive it. Yes, you can blip it at a stand still, but barely. It has a creep mode (not creeper mode - too loud). It has "hill assist" or some damn thing, that essentially holds it on an incline - it gives you a few seconds, but if you wait too long it will start to roll. The specs elude me, but it is not intrusive.

And absolutely, it's not even a debate concerning my own personal car, it is definitely going to be spec'd a 6MT. But I would like to get a feel for the torque and linear delivery/steering feel of an F80.

He had great things to say about the acceleration. For a stock car, he says he hasn't really experienced such a smooth onslaught of power before.
Both posted at 10:03. Noob.

He's right though. The F80 feels like there's power available all the time. Fun car to drive.

That's what I'd done. Like it could be blipped before starting, and it holds the gear on inclines for a small portion of time to allow "clutch engagement" I suppose.

I always wondered what the purpose of those features were, because it shifted like a damn race car. I suppose to try and give drivers the best of both worlds.

Also why I assume there is no "P" option when you are stationary.

So interesting.

How have you driven one and not told me about this?!!?!

EDIT: Maybe you did, we tend to talk about many different things at one time, so don't get mad.

Yeah... you bring a manual mentality to the car. Parking break when you take it out of gear - duh. I know it is not a manual, per se, but I drive it like one - run the gears, control the revs and gearing with my own hands and feet - and there are 8 options... R and 1-7... there is no P.

Before I bought the E46, I was car shopping and looking at all the F80s, E92s and E46s I could find. I actually drove a couple of them. My fault that I did not tell you about it. I didn't know you were in the market at the time.

Also, electric parking brake or no? I am seeing that a lot in cars these days. They're killing the panty-dropping handbrake turns.

I was jk man. You ended up with the more "purist" automobile anyway.

Seen your IG pull with the 911 Turbo. It was like a fighter jet being chased by a vacuum.

No... real hand lever... at least can confirm for E9x and F8x.

HAHAHA I laughed so hard at this!

My car is stupid loud. When I dropped it off at BMW to do the airbag recall, I went into the waiting room since it wouldn't take that long. All of a sudden, I hear my car fire up and literally heard it from where I dropped it off all the way into the service garage. I never realized how loud it was until that moment. And the video you mentioned, the 911TT is running a catless exhaust. LOL

Dude, those turbos are STUPID fast, but if they aren't the most boring sounding flat sixes of all time... like, I dunno what TF the difference in the manifold layout between one of those and, say, a GT2 RS is (perhaps size of turbochargers and exhaust modifications?) but that thing is literally a church mouse on steroids.

Hahahaa that reminds me of the 335i when it would get started after being taken off the lift at BMW. I could literally hear it up until the point the motor warmed up and they rolled it into the wash station...then from the wash station to the front of the building. I could even hear the spooling, it was nuts. Fucking straight pipe.

A catless exhaust? Sounds like a soulless exhaust.

Nothing says badass like pulling up the parking brake to a point that no one else can release it. I do this in the M6 when I take it to the dealership for service.

Male Porter: Damn...I can't release the hand brake. WTF?!?!!!
Me: Let me help you with that, miss.

Same with the M6. It shakes my daughter's bedroom when I start it as she selected the room over the garage.

Cold start in 40F and below is EPIC!!

That Turbo is stupid fast. It's tuned and everything. Not a car to mess with, that's for sure.

I miss your 335i. That video you posted on FB was classic! So loud. Just wait until I install the catless headers on the M3.
