Wouldn't say ruined but yes, it did make me pause, think, learn more about myself (more mindful) as well as others that I considered really close friends (not anymore).

Had a close friend who got all butthurt at a joke I said and became unessecarily angry and stopped being friends with me lol. The topic was about which truck would win in a pull...

Like what the OP said before, if they disconnect your friendship over facebook, they weren't real friends to begin with.

No, but I know of at least four people who have lost their jobs due to poor judgement on Facebook. Don't go on there when you're mad or if you've been drinking.

also along the lines of facebook, I did something really stupid. I got shares at the IPO, and as it fell, bought more 3X to get my cost even lower. Well you all know how it went, it bottomed at around $19, and is over $120 today. I sold at $41, and was so happy I made almost around a 25% gain. hmmmmmm.......no pain no gain, this is probably the worst case of missed money ever

The above is not atypical, however. I suppose one has to make a decision and stick with it....

I did go back in at $100 and sold at $105...big whoop lol but I like to "pay" for small luxury things with these plays...(talking $1k or less)

I would have unfriended and unfollowed just because he said something related to trucks in a truck pull - if I had Facebook.

I did, then a psycho ex girlfriend form HS started stalking me and sending me messages and posting shit. Exercised nuclear option and ditched FB completely. Glad I did.

Another thing to consider about FB. Your page doesn't go away if you die. They have a procedure for next of kin to have a page removed, but it involves sending FB a shitload of personal info to prove the person is dead and that you are next of kin. Otherwise the page remains active and "friends" who don't really know you well enough to know you died will wish you happy birthday every year for the rest of your life.

My favorite is when that happens and they bitch about how freedom of speech is dying in America, clearly demonstrating that they haven't the slightest idea of what freedom of speech actually is.

Wait, you mean freedom of speech doesn't mean I can call some non-governmental person or entity any name I want or divulge their secrets and still be protected. Wtf ma?. This is America! What next man, what next?

NOT true. My wife gets PISSED because we go to a family event, and one particular niece takes photos and posts on FB, tagging us. Then somebody else calls and says "I saw you at. . . on FB" Heck, middle son who is living in another state called to complain that we were the rich aunt/uncle paying for another's funeral, but we can't afford to pay for his wedding. All we did was put on our CC and then collected cash from under the deceased's mattress.

We don't go as often to those family members' parties.

Yes, but think about this....how many spouses share accounts. I have often told my wife, I don't want your passwords for email, facebook, etc. She was always very willy nilly where I can just login to her accounts--I told her don't do that in general. I've even said if we ever got divorced, I"m not going to be one of those bas*****. Basically, you'll likely take 80% of everything I've ever worked for, and I'll start again like my cousin did. Would I be happy? No way. But I have a 31 mo. old boy so it all works out.

Her cousin's ex husband and all of us boys are all buddys, he rebuilds any German car blah blah blah and there was a falling out and it's bitter. It's awkward to see him with all kinds of new and hot women on fb, at the same time nice to see he's doing well....wife's cousin even defriended me only so her ex couldn't be a friend of a friend. I told my wife to tell her all she has to do is block the ex, but whatever...

Yeah that would be annoying to me as well.

I was just trying to apply "No Castro No Problem" to Facebook in my post...

Sounds like the OP got caught smurfing his ex's cousin, sister, or mother (or maybe got caught smuring his ex's brother?).
