i was in downtown Manhattan weeks after the attacks, and I couldn't believe what I saw. It was la scene out of a war movie. There was still burning debri, and the smell was nauseating. I haven't been back since because it really upsets me to know that many people died, and brings back painful memories. I lost a friend in the attacks. I heard they did a really good job building up the area. Maybe one day I will make it back downtown to see it.

Dude our family can pick up the bill. The issue is that not everyone can.

Something as simple as reading opens up so many opportunities for people. If people have hope, any extremist group has less to poison.

Public schools in the US provide free education from kindergarten to 12th grade, that should cover reading, no?

Having just returned from a "President's Club" trip to Italy, he was on his way to Oracle's HQ for a sales meeting.

Believe me, that the Bavarians are the utmost German patriots...as long as it regards their own country. The rest of us are more moderate and we're wearing our proud more silent

Definitely never forget.

This tragedy really brought out the best I've ever seen in Americans.

There are times when we are arguing among ourselves, when I think we really should remember how great we can be. When the chips are down, it's just incredible how great the USA is, and always will be.

Sure, many of us are Americans by birthright, but we should never take for granted what that means, and what it means for others to become Americans and to join us.

RIP to all those who left us on 9/11....growing up in Queens I remember being sent home from school early and seeing smoke from the balcony. Thank you to all the police, firefighters, EMT's, and civilians who provided help knowing it would come at a cost to their loved ones.

Look at the companies who profited from the Iraq War and also take a close look at who owned these companies at the time or that still own them now, you'll find some really "interesting" facts. Also, for as much as like to think that our country is standing up for the innocent and the oppressed in the Middle East I also think that it is time we let the Middle East fix their own problems, let Saudi Arabia do something, let other countries form their own coalitions to combat these extremist. You always hear the "most Muslims are peaceful" or the "not all Muslims are terrorist" comments, every time I hear is I ask myself well doesn't this majority do something about it?

I personally think we should leave the Middle East and let them solve their issues on their own...religion has had a good portion of this region completely brain washed for countless years and yet we still think that participating and intervening in Middle East affairs will bring change. We can go in and create "stability" but honestly how long will that last? This is a viscous never ending cycle where every politician seems to know how to "win" yet it's been how long?

Not sure if I'm reading your comment right.

They had jet's up and a no fly zone within minutes.

But "loaded" up jet's are going to do what?
Shoot down a plane over a crowded city?

shoot down the flight 93, the plane that passengers took over but it eventually crash.
i think its was flight 93. One jet pilot said he saw plane but didnt have enough fuel so he had to return to base.
2nd pilot, female said that the jets are not ready and it takes few minutes to load jets with weapon and fuel.
By the time jet was ready, plane had crashed.
Air Force 1 was in the air and escorted by jet.

Don't forget also that this was totally unexpected, attack on home soil by a domestic airline, and no-one knew it was even an attack till the first plane plowed into the tower.

Hence no response...

Any alien craft would have been spotted WAY in advance by NORAD and fully loaded up planes sent to investigate, where the US is, a couple of minutes is usually good enough.

You would be hard pressed to find a multi story building that DIDNT have access to the roof barred for liability reasons

Not when you have the heat from burning kerosene behind you ..
Flames of the fire from kerosene are "1,900° Celsius or 3,452 ° Fahrenheit"
Honestly...I would jump as well , prefer to jump than be burned alive !
