I haven't had the chance yet but I hope it's better than the 5th gen. IMO, it looks like it'll feel better than the 5th gen did.

Still slower than the M4 gts though...
Even if it where a second faster I could not see myself driving this thing. Looks totally cartoonish inside and out.
And yes, I do like my orange wheels.

Less than 2 seconds on a 13mile course with worse tires, and it's half the price. How embarrassing for Chevy, how are they ever going to get over that, lol.

You're bragging, but you should be embarrassed about this.

Not embarrassed one bit.
Just love the gts and all the M3s I have owned over the last 12 years. Just a BMW fanatic.
New corvette looks great IMO, not the Camaro.

To each his own...

I do look forward to that test since the aero version was just announced. Should be very close. Hopefully BMW will set up the car right this time and not let the testers use street setting...

So a car with a limited interior items and a roll cage is less than 2 seconds faster than a car with a full interior and no roll cage.

I don't see how that's something to brag about.

Compare a regular M4 to a regular 2017 ZL1.....if the ZL1 1LE does a lap on the 'Ring, then compare that to the M4 GTS.

I look forward to a ZL1 1LE vs M4 gts test! By the summer, we will probably have a few more contenders, both on the German and American side...

since you keep hammering on it i'll ask, what standard are you holding the Zl1s interior to? So far you've said the materials are 'fine' (i personally think the alcantara on everything that you touch is a nice upgrade), is it the touch screen you don't like? I thought the switches pretty much fell to hand, i couldn't operate everything blindfolded like i could in the truck i've been driving for 4 years, but i don't expect it to be the same. All you really said is that the shifter ball it big.

I was interested in the M2, but its kinda M light, and the way the seat is positioned, with the drivers legs off to the side kill my hip after about 45 minutes, my old e36 M3 was less dramatically offset and it was not great for me, i loved the car, but any kind of road trip was brutal.

This thing will crush a GTS with the 1LE package.

Honestly, I don't even think a Z/28 is being made. If it is, it has to be one hell of a car.

I am holding it to a starting at $61,000.00 price tag. The Alcantara is not a nice touch IMO, it's over done like they were trying hard to just put it everywhere. And the ergonomics were far from perfect IMO in the SS I drove around the course, I felt like I was 10 years old driving my dads 75' Tran Am. And yes, the shifter is horrid, it always has been in the Camaro (I used to own a Z/28).

I really hate the retro crap, I have from the beginning and now all Ford and Chevy are doing is adding more tech to it and it just sucks.

Performance wise it's great, no one is denying that. But 99% of it's owners will never push it anywhere near it's limits. Much like most sports car owners I guess.

But if you like it, that's cool, it's just personal preference.

Just you making comments tells me this car has your attention and you won't run it with your girl in your car. Give it up. For the 65k you get 650 hp with a warranty and Ring suspension tuning. We know better.

Seems they're already being discounted. It's a steal for $57k!

Why would a I run a 600HP car? Whether my girl is in the car or not

And yes this car has my attention, it's a hell of a performer. I just don't like it overall. This is a discussion, and people are whining because some of us wouldn't drive one.

If that is true, that's a good deal. Highly doubtful these would be sold at under MSRP though.

That is the price which I verified with the dealer. Again, a steal for this level of performance.

I saw a blue one yesterday behind me on the highway and it looked like it was straight out of a cartoon. I can't honestly say that I loved it or hated it, but I much prefer the previous gen.

They look Ok from the outside but the interior really is shite and I say that as a harsh critic of BMW's rubbish interiors.

The driving position and visibility is a no-go for me. Unless it's a pure track car just go CTS-V and be done with it. If it is a track car, then by a Formula Ford and really enjoy the track, i don't get hard core track coupes and sedans, solves nothing.
