Don't bother. BMW fanboyism is an uncurable disease just like the subies
![]() Truth is, many said 'I won't buy a domestic until it reaches the standards of Jap/Euro' which is simply not true. Even if GM exceeded the standard ten fold, there will still be idiots out there riding around in an inferior car and claim that they can do one thing better out of a hundred. My thoughts... CTS-V will make the M3/M5/C63/IS-F seem like economy cars. Without the economy advantage. |

WOW.
Is all I can say. I love my Bimmers but, it seems like GM has nailed it with this one. Its faster in a straight line than an M5. Better in the twisties (the nurburgring time shows that). Must have good steering feel/feedback - again the nurburgring time indicates it does (always hard to push a car if you are not getting proper feedback from the steering). Must have a great chasis - again look at the nurburgring time (no luxury chasis can put up those times). The interior is not bad (not like BMW interiors are anything to write home about). And finally the price will be awesome. Looks like this could very well be my next car. |

I test drove the last generation CTS-V before getting a 335. I thought it handled OK. I drove it through some curves and thought it compared favorably to the E36 I had at the time. It's not fair to say this car has straight line performance only. The power this car had was incredible. In the end, I decided not to get it because I heard a lot of people were having problems with the differential, the average mileage on the on-board computer indicated 9.9mpg, and the exhaust was embarrassingly loud.

I'm not an expert but back a few years ago I worked at Cadillac and if there is one thing I can say is they have excellent customer service. There for you when you need them. Needless to say, this is in response to their cars being more worthless than a Chevy corvair! These Cadillacs break down more than the Ford GT Jeremy Clarkson bought. However, as tested by Jeremy Clarkson, the CTS-V does handle quite well for an american car. That's the only good news though.

then again anyone can make anything go fast with enough time and money. i'd never drive a caddy. parents had one before and it broke down constantly. |

I am looking for a 4 door with more room (business) than my old e90 335. The 09 CTS-V is starting around 60K according to my research. It also said expect dealer mark ups. How could they mark up this car when they aren't selling crap? Limited production? 0-60 in 3.9 on one review

I was at the NYC Autoshow for the BMW premiere event and had the oppurtunity to actually go up onto the display and get a full demo of the CTS-V (I was the last person from the general public to do so). I sat in the car and was able to look at and touch everything. The interior is NICE! The fit and finish was fantastic and the materials used were just as good as Mercedes and BMW (they actually use the same supplier for many of the parts). The pop-up nav screen was great because when you're not using it, it drops down out of the way. There is real-time traffic updates (I could see there was an accident right outside of the JJC and the nav was trying to get us around it
![]() The engine as many of you know is not the ZR1 engine, but a variant of it. It uses a smaller supercharger (1.9L vs. 2.2L). It also uses a smaller intercooler (mostly because the engine bay is larger and evacts heat easier than the ZR1) and some other internal bits aren't as exotic a metal that the ZR1 uses). The end result is (as Cadillac likes to put it) an M5 performer for M3 money. This car is going to be fantastic. I would love to drive one. I can't wait for the true tests to come out. Under 8 minutes around the 'Ring is really moving.

Yup. The M5 looks better IMO too. But if one can be had for around 70K I am interested. And again...3.9 0-60 during one test!!! That is quick enough to let the looks grow on me.
