Didn't see this thread years ago.
Anyways,
Those of you who heard of dollar shave club.
They use razors made by pace.
They can be found on amazon (other places too but I have prime).

The pace 6 has 6 blades. 6!
Must be good right? They are about $1.62-2 a cartridge.
I gave them a try and daaayum, way better than any other multiblade I've tried. I can get a couple weeks out of them easy.
Pretty impressed so far.

I have very sensitive skin, so I get razor burns and cuts very easily.

What I use:

http://www.amazon.com/Billy-Jealousy...billy+jealousy

http://www.amazon.com/Gillette-Mach3...3+razor+blades

That's it. Get some water on your face before you apply shave gel, shave, wash up, enjoy.

Has worked perfectly for me.

Can you give a little review on how you feel about them? I was thinking about making the switch because my Fusion blades are too expensive for how often they need to be replaced, but I never found anyone that has actually tried the executive.

What did you use before? Is it comparable? Better? Worse?

So far, I have only shaved 2x.

It's heavy(the handle), which I like.

No power(Vibration), which I think I will get used to.

I figured what the hell, I'll give it a try. For 9 bux a month you get 4 refills. You can switch to every other month.

New fusion power blade vs my first 2 uses of DSC...The DSC didn't tug at all at my stumble. So far a success.

Now I'll give it a month and see how the blades hold up.

I guess it also depends how often you shave no? I mean I probably shave maybe twice a week but then I dont get as close as shave with my electric than I would with the blade. Still though with 4 refills per month you really would only have to use the blades maybe twice before putting on a new set no?

I've used the pace 6 (dsc executive) about 4-5 times before trying a fresh one. Lasts a good while.
Buying it on amazon is only
tiny bit cheaper but I don't like subscribing to things and I get 15 per delivery

2x a week is probably right. I am not wasteful though. I'll probably switch to an every-other-month plan soon.

I thought about getting a wet-shave electric. ANyone have experience with these?

I have been using Harry's razors for the last few months over my Mach 3. Well...I still used the Mach 3 on travel but out of the last 4.5 months, I've used HR half a little more than half the time. I ordered the Winston set.

The razor that came on the handle was not super sharp but it wasn't tugging at my stubble or anything. The 2 replacement blades were a lot sharper, though. My main complaint is that the spacing between the blades is too little so stubble and stuff builds up very quickly and easily. I do not shave every day, though, so this likely contributes to the problem.

It also is tricky to get in the nook atop the philtrum, which wasn't a problem with the Mach 3. The physical size of the HR razors not very different (optically) from the Mach 3 cartridges, though. Cost-wise, HR is way better than the Mach 3. If I shaved every day, perhaps the buildup issue would not be an issue. I am otherwise happy with Harry's razors but am thinking of now trying the Pace 6 since it seems the blades are spaced a little further apart.

Any Gillette fusion fans here? I have thick hair like Persian stated which seems to wear out the fusion kind of fast. I shave twice week and one blade will last me about two weeks or so I would say. Anyone use the dollar shave club and think it's better?

I switched from the fusion pro glide. It's better for sure.

While I do perfectly understand some opinions that push everyone for the DE razor, I must say that I truly believe that shaving is a VERY PERSONAL choice. In fact is not even a choice, is more of a forced choice since you use what works.
My grandparents used the single blade tools that they were sharpening on a leather belt every morning (throat cutters) and my dad is successfully using the DE blade.
I start with the DE blade under my dad instructions which makes from shaving a true ritual.
While I do have a very thick and amazingly strong hair, I have in the same time a sensitive skin.
After using few years DE system, I switched to Gillette Mach 3 and my skin thanked me.
I always got red skin and pimples from the DE system and that blade needed few strokes to do the job, and that resulted many times in a very irritated skin; but not anymore.

I shave every second day and I give my skin a rest if I can from time to time. One Mach 3 or Mach 5 keeps me going for around 10-14 shaves and I use it twice per shave.

I also have a high-end Philips electric shaver but I use it only when is emergency or I am in a place where no proper conditions (hot water) are met.

I know that there are few nice shaving soaps, however I got used with the Nivea sensitive gel and I am ok with it.
I hate shaving anyway...

I also use Harry's razors, which I switched to maybe 6 months ago after trying most of the offering's from Gillette.

I have course facial hair and shave daily. With the Gillette I would have 5 o'clock shadow in the evening. With Harry's it doesn't start to show until the next morning. I can also skip a day if needed and not look scruffy.

I also agree with the above post that mentioned Billy Jealousy shaving cream. The combo has given me the best shave I've ever had, better than other disposable blades and on par with straight razors.

I started using a double-edged safety razor about 5 years ago to save money on blades. NEVER going back. Wet shaving is actually enjoyable whereas shaving any other way is a chore for me.

My favorite is a Gillette Super Speed from the early 50's. It's a butterfly-type razor which I like because you can change the blades without having to take the razor apart. I also like the Merkur Classic which was the most basic Merkur on Amazon at the time:

I also have the Dollar Shave Club Executive.

It's nice that everything's automatic and always having fresh blades and not having to use a blade well into "dull" to not feel like I'm flushing money down the drain.

That said, my DSC blades have some variation in quality. Some are quite decent. Some will mangle my face on the first shave.I'd say it's maybe 1 in 5 that seem out of wack, or a little less than one a month. When I get a bad one, I can "feel" it much more and it's common to bleed after shaving.

I also use a brush and soap to lather.
