Edit: Apologies, mine is the 18 gun safe, not the 24. The depth on both models is the same at 20 inches. So my door is 20 inches wide getting to the 40 inches when open. Mine 24 inches wide while the 24 you're looking at is 28.5 inches. I would assume you have the same 2 inches on either side of the door so maybe a 24.5 inch door which would get you to about 44.5 deep with the door open.

Get one probably twice the size you think you need. I bought one for the firearms I used to have that was big enough... UNTIL my wife decided she needed to put a plethora of her stuff in it! Your wife will find many things she needs to put in it.

So I went with a Winchester 26 long gun safe. I had gone to go check them out at Tractor Supply as they are local vs anything else I could go to see some in person being over an hour away. It fits perfectly in my closet and luck had it that my father-in-law that lives nearby had a ton of people over to watch some football. Got it out in the trailer and friends helped tuck it away yesterday afternoon.

I’m sure it’s far from the nicest thing out there, but it’s a great size and an even better price. Long story, but the Tractor Supply guys really helped me out and I got it home for under $400 all in. Compared to the grand or so that I was looking at for very similar stuff, I’m happy! Loaded it up last night.

Firearm wise, my strategy is to have them locked up when I’m not home and at least one nearby and available when I am home and next to the bed when sleeping.

I had a lengthy sit down with her parents yesterday. While appreciative that we didn’t, they were sort of in the camp of teaching her a lesson. Benefits on either side of the fence, but we had to choose a side.

I really like their JM line shotguns though I don't have one since I already have a couple of Benellis (M2 and M4). For home defense I probably would use the SBS or my AR. Likely my AR.

For the comment about the safe being across the house.. I think of the saying that a pistol is for fighting your way to your rifle.

I'm going to cell my C and wait to see what the new Staccato HD is about after it's been out a few months and if it's not small enough, I'm going to grab a CS.

In other news, I did not get the P365 Fuse or the Xmacro. I went and got a TyrantCNC snubbie xmacro grip and some new mags and turned my tiny P365 into this:


it feels and shoots so much better and still conceals easily. Just no more pocket carry which I still have my old Glock 42 for.

It’s the same process really. Roll over to an FFL and just knock out the transfer paperwork; exchange the money before you get there.

Added a Railok compensator to my HK P30. Full John Wick spec


Complete rebuild on my Sig P365. Added a Strike Industries grip module, Radian Ramjet + Afterburner barrel and comp, and MagGuts mag inserts. Loving this setup for EDC. 14+1 capacity while still compact and shoots super flat!

It's called a red-dot sight. They are very helpful in acquiring the target.

p365xl gun came in so i swapped the slide over and installed my holosun scs carry. time to get to the range to zero it. will put the short slide on the xl grip.

LOL - my SCS Carry will be here Weds to replace my battery eating Romeo Zero Elite on my P365X.........looks like it fits well!

Were the right screws for it in the box? I see reports both ways, but I didn't want to order them in advance in case they came with it for the P365.

The screws that came with it didn't fit for me. The screws I had for the eps carry didn't fit. I found a box of screws from my trijicon box that fit. lol

Crap - well I guess it's a longer wait then. It's ok - it's too shitty outside to zero it anyway. New screws ordered. Thank you for saving me 2 days to wait and found out the hard way!

EDIT - LOL - at least the screw supplier is on the ball!

Finally took this puppy home and shot it a little while ago. It's a two stamper and the approvals took 36 hours. It's a B&T SPC9 SD-E.

As I figured, it is the QUIETEST 9mm firearm I've ever shot. Even more so than my MP5SD. Truly the only sound you hear is the action. And that's with 124 gr. supers. Even with just the first stage of the suppressor (which looks cool completely tucked), it's dead quiet.
