I confess that I don't appreciate one specific aspect about new BMW design. Everything else looks great, including the most recently released vehicles too.

The shift nub. What the fuck is this? Why is the electric i4 getting an actual shifter when the gas powered 3er LCI is getting the nub?

I have a flatbed scheduled to get me to the dealer tomorrow morning. Fucking tech nonsense. 2022 with 8,000 miles won’t start again. They told me two weeks ago it was due to a failed attempt at remote software update. Software updated successfully, all good. Couldn’t start again today. Got it started and went to the store. After restart, was hit with a wave of error messages including drivetrain malfunction, CEL, brake boost, failed left highbeam, unable to engage M1. I stalled at a light with people freaking out behind me. Was finally able to get her home after restart.

I really hope this doesn't turn into a nightmare for you. But I would definitely explain to the dealer that they can't turn the car back over to you if it can't drive. And yes, sometimes too much tech is too much tech. Meanwhile, are they providing you with a loaner at least?

Yes, I sent a text to my SA early this morning so they could save me a loaner. It's a 330, but it's a car.

So the 330 isn’t bad. At least it has some pick up. The X1 I had last week couldn’t get out of its own way.

They changed the battery but it’s still throwing errors. The will reprogram tonight and should know something late morning. He said they would have to do some test drives. I just asked that they please not do Ferris Buellers day off test drives. Fingers crossed.

I sure hope it doesn't get to that point. Years ago, when I had the Jeep from hell, it was the exact same problem unresolved three times. I just hope they at least come back and can identify what it is. Losing power and stalling on a local street is one thing. On the highway at cruising speed is another.

That sucks. I've seen failing batteries do some strange things on these cars, but nothing like that. Sounds like an issue with a module to me.
