Yeah, the city is heinous during winter. Bare trees, gloomy/rainy skies...ugh. I'm going to hit up Buffalo this weekend, then Ithaca the week after, and then Connecticut in March!

Haha I didn't say anything about being perverted. Just the fact that the knowledge of people's underwear being wet is tad more than what I need.

I've only been to the east coast during winter. I much rather see everything covered in white. Boston was real nice.

Yeah i love spring/summer. But here in san diego, spring isnt very nice. Its gloomy from the marine layer. So the summer doesnt really start till july. I just love being able to go out at night and not worrying about taking a coat. I can wear a skirt, and a tank top and be comfortable. Love it.

I was expecting much of the place to be white too but I was mistaken. All of NYC had no snow, so it was quite barren and ugly. I've never seen more brick buildings in my life - it's going to be quite a drastic change coming from La Jolla straight into NYC.

Hahah thats exactly how i felt when i first saw it. Nyc has a mysterious lure about it, but in reality the buildings arent very pretty. However, i think this was the charm that i love bout the east coast. The fact that IT IS so different from san diego.

I think other places in the US all has their own allures. Like SF, I dreaded it when I moved up, it was such a depressing city. But once I came back, I can see why people fall in love with it. When I went to Boston, the city had such beautiful architectures, and the communities were so serene. The conference I went to at Denver was so refreshing. The landscapes are just so different, and the air becomes unimaginably fresh when the sun comes back out after their afternoon thunderstorm. The thing about so cali is that its just too damn comfortable. You get spoiled when you live here. Although living elsewhere might be colorful, coming back to so cali makes you appreciate it that much more.

I dunno if I could ever live somewhere besides the Pacific NW for an extended period of time. I've visited a lot of places in the US and don't think I could manage living in any of them that long. I think parts of California would be high on my list though.

So funny you say that. On the flight home sunday, i was looking over san diego, and i kept thinking to myself.. no matter how far away i move, this is my home. San diego is so beautiful, i could never love a place more than here.. But, moving away will give me so much more experience, and ill be out of my comfort zone. Ill finally see who i am without the comforts of my friends and family around. Im excited and nervous, but i know i have to do it.

You don't even know... I almost kissed the ground of LAX when I got back from my 1 mth business trip to Asia a couple years back. I walked out the door to the sidewalk of LAX and took that breath of fresh smog I was so happy.

So where are you planning on moving to, Bella? I imagine Manhattan would be too expensive but hey, I don't know how much hustle you're making off the side at night...

It all depends on school. I really loved Monmouth Uni. The school is SO pretty, and its right next to the beach too. Its 45 min from nyc. If i move into the city, probably in Brooklyn or Queens

I've been to both Brooklyn and Queens...quite ghetto (personally). Other folks who lived there their whole lives probably don't mind. But those burroughs are just so damn dirty - when traveling along the freeways, the skirts are just LITTERED with tons of trash - the grass is basically white from all the plastic bags, styrofoam, cigarette butts, and containers that just flat-out turn the city into a junkyard. It's disgusting.

My California freeways are just well kept, I suppose.

Don't even get me started on the potholes/road-conditions in NYC.

Well the 1st time i went to nyc, i stayed at a friends apartment in queens. It was nice. She lived in Kew Gardens and it was close to the subway. So i didnt mind it at all. But its gonna be hard finding a place to live without being out there. So if i get accetped to a school with housing, ill prob take advantage of that.

Yeah, if you travel with the subway I guess you won't see all that garbage. I went by cabs. Dirty ass city.
