What I will say about this is that it seems like a decent attempt to shed a positive light on the inevitable epidemic that is obesity. Men and women both suffer from it, and it is increasing.
I don't think this is a glorification, but I will say that I work very hard to keep my physique, health, and eating habits in check because I was also once an obese person. It is not a fun thing to be, but there is a big difference between a willingness to change and an acceptance through failure. It takes time. The people in those pics seemed to be pretty happy with themselves, many of whom were taking selfies, and what not. That's good for them. |

Freaking horrible. Byproduct of taking mandatory physical fitness out of school, overprotective parenting, and game consoles as well as 8 yrs of lower incomes making fast food more viable and healthy food too expensive for many families.

Well, i wouldn't get to caught up on it being an "average, not median number" because just about 70% of American adults are obese or over weight. If you need sources, i will provide.

What bothers me the most is the term "average." Who the hell strives to be average? America is beyond obese with our huge meals and our cheap fatty diets. We should always strive for an ideal! Yes, being a Victoria Secret Model is not an achievable goal for most. Being Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't an achievable goal for me, but you bet your ass I'll be in the gym and eating healthy trying to be the best version of myself. I like that Buzzfeed is promoting a positive body image for women but stroking their ego saying that what they're posting is ideal is very wrong. #endrant Last edited by Jhenka; 10-28-2016 at 11:46 AM.. |

I am most attracted to lengthy super skinny women.
However, there are women who wear their weight well and remain attractive to me. If larger women want to celebrate themselves, I don't mind. I just don't care for when people, fat or skinny, try to lift themselves up by putting others down. "This is how real women look" "Be healthy, have curves" For reference, I am overweight according to my BMI. When I was nearly 50lbs heavier, I was obese on the BMI scale. |

All these body acceptance/feminism movements are specifically targeted at women - why? Because women (people) don't like being accountable for their actions.

I'm not asking - I'm telling you. The biggest critics of women are other women. Some women don't want to go through the trouble of eating well and taking care of themselves, and feel that men/people should be 'accepting' of their lifestyle.
It's not my place to 'accept' it or not, but I simply think all those women are fat and unattractive, and no amount of Buzzfeed bullshit will change that. What's funny is that men are mocked for not being the 'ideal' guy, we have shows based around how pathetic it is to be "that overweight guy" and here we are celebrating these women because they don't want to put an effort it. |

I don't think double standards really matter. You like what you like. As long as you accept that they may not like you back, there's no harm. If they do like you, great!
The only time it really matters is when people bitch and moan about not finding a partner because they're not having any luck with the ones they go after that are way out of their league. I'm guilty of having double standards myself. I don't have boobs but I will only date people with boobs. |

News flash, AS is below average (like most of those girls on that page) and the idea that they would have a revolving door of high value men isn't even a dream - it's a fucking fairytale. |
