lol...I'm 18 too and I've never gotten a ticket since I know where to speed and where not to. So just speed in those back roads that you mentioned, but still be very careful.

You're right about that, but with this car + the JB tune that you have or my SSTT, in that 3 seconds you'll be doing crazy speeds, so its more noticeable.

Motorcycle cops are pure ticket machines. Thats all they do and they seldom give any breaks. Passing out tickets is the bread and butter of any department. They are just doing their job.. and yea, after reading your post you really have to slow down. Don't blame the cop he didn't press down on your accelerator...

I'm sorry but you now have learned your lesson.
I have had similar problem when I was in high school and end up not driving for about 3 years until all the points cleared. I had about 16 points on my record which immediately suspended my license, of course my parents' insurance trippled literally.
I'm sure your license would be suspended unless you manage to dismiss your tickets and not many insurance companies would accept you unless you pay gizillian dollars, prolly around $6000 or more.

My best advice for you is surrender your license, take driving course and try contacting insurance companies after 6 months or so to see where you are at.

I know it's very harsh and will make you feel like you've got nothing left, but you will get used to it. It just doesn't make sense to keep the car with all the premiums and payments you are going to make.
It was your mean of your transportation and your favorite toy, but think if it really worth all the effort.

Thats should be easily dismissed. The accuracy of the speed measurement out there for law enforcement is typically no better than +/- 2mph. Find out what he was using and you can can get the manual for the radar/lidar and find out for sure.

It's been over a year since my last ticket (for excessive lane changing on the highway), and since I've moved to Gainesville I've had 3 in a rapid fire succession. Each time it was bullshit too.

First ticket: I was in the Civic, goin 87 in a 65, but I honestly didn't even realize how fast I was going. The general flow was about 80 as it was, and I was in the left lane where everyone was going at least 80-85. Fuckin cop swings out behind the guy behind me, goes on the emergency lane and pulls me over.

Second ticket: I'm in the 3 going home after school. I'm really happy because I just got my HPFP replacement done. I get caught behind this granny in a camry going like 30 in a 40, so I get a little annoyed because I'm boxed in by this other old guy. As soon as I get a gap to break free I get a little carried away and I'm doing about 51 in a 40. Fuckin asshole comes outta NOWHERE and pulls me over. Fuck.

Third ticket: In the 3, me and four other guys are going down to a sports grille to eat wings and watch the Rays game (which we got owned in btw). There's a stretch of road that goes downhill, nobody's around. I tell them, "hey I just installed this tune, lemme show ya". I gun it for MAYBE two seconds tops, and then I hit the brakes and bring my speed back down to about 50 in a 45. Piece of shit on two wheels rolls out in front of me, points at me and then tells me to pull over. Doesn't say anything except "you were going 30 over the speed limit, that's a mandatory court date". Fuck you.

I just had to vent guys. This place has so many fucking cops it's depressing.

It's your fault for pulling some dumb shit..
You can't expect to not be pulled over because others are speeding as well.

At least you don't get ticketed for BS like going 3-5 over to pass someone safely, then get another ticket in the process for your blinker only blinking twice instead of 3 times before changing lanes.

The judge was incredibly reasonable and understanding.

He also used to live in St. Pete like me. We talked about where I got my tickets, and he says pretty much everybody that moves to Gainesville (especially SoFL students) gets pulled over where I got pulled over. I've got about $500 in fines to pay, and an eight hour course, but I was mostly just worried about the points.

Even though I don't knowingly speed, i.e. if I just lose focus and start to pick up speed, I keep a radar detector on just in case. God forbid there is a cop around the one time I don't pay attention. Its really easy to go fast in my 328, I'm sure a 335 is even more so.

That's freaking retarded. My judge was cool about everything. He even said some jokes during the trial, seriously.

You know how in a traffic court room everyone sits down and waits to be called up? Then the judge discusses the ticket and gives a verdict within five minutes or so. Well, some of these tickets were so ridiculously trivial that the judge was actually amazed at how stupid they were. He was saying "I've been in this line of work for 20 years, and never have I seen so many petty offenses as this. Do these officers have nothing better to do?". Everyone laughed, because that's exactly what we're all thinking.

I'm sure if you get a ticket for a 26 in a 25 he'd dismiss it before you'd have a chance to speak.

He was much stricter about my situation though, understandably.
