uncle sam paid this guy off.
he's 61 years old. too old for media and the general american public to question if there were ulterior motives.

to go on record, ive never been in a prius, but i know damn sure i wouldnt be able to look at the road AND try to pull the accelerator up with my hands in my e92

The woman who testified before congress stated that shifting into neutral reverse etc did nothing to slow her Camry and if you read the whole story a off-duty CHP officer was killed in a out of control Lexus surely he had advanced driver training. It appears it is not simply a case of shifting into neutral there seems to be an ECU gremlin. Another reason to own a std.

^ yea the CHP officer part really brought this out. I refuse to believe that the cause in the CHP case was the floor mats like they all said back then. that's probably when this started really coming out. on top of that, it's hard to believe that a CHP officer wouldn't be able to try to get it in neutral- there's definitely something going on.

You'd think the brakes would be burned out if the driver was actually trying to stop the vehicle?

It's amazing these people have plenty of time to call 911 but they can't figure out how to apply the brakes, place the shifter in neutral or shut the ignition off.

This video pretty much sums it up. Maybe someone should tell these drivers the brake pedal is not on the right?

WARNING - FOUL LANGUAGE IN VIDEO.

OMG that was the funniest vid i have seen in a long time, dude is awesome.

The CHP told him to shift into neutral when he arrived and the guy refused to shift into neutral... he said he was afraid the "car would flip"

Apparently disengaging the engine from the transmission resulting in decreased velocity even without breaking could make the car flip, but a runaway accelerating vehicle fighting the brakes wont LOL IDIOT!!!

just saw the new some lady crashed her prius and blamed the stuck accelerator... computer shows that she did not even hit the break. doh stupid people blaming car.. poor toyota

and yes, even w/o engine cut off or shifting to neutral, car WILL STOP if you SLAM ON YOUR BREAKS. especially on a prius.
