Same here. Finally worked for me, only have the location and lock/unlock function. Tested it and it does take a while to lock and unlock even if I am standing next to the car. Still a cool feature if I lock my keys inside for some reason, although with the CA option I don't see it happening.

Hopefully they add other functions in the future, maybe air conditioning/heater w/ a start engine function for those scorching/freezing days and I want to warm up/cool off the car before getting inside. It would be awesome if I could do that while having breakfast and it is a perfect temperature once I get into the car before going to work.

this was working for me, now when i try it it says data sent OK but then after a bit a get a msg that said the vehicle did not respond. anyone else have this issue?

yeah, it doesn't really work anymore. sometimes it sends the the info fine, other times it says "data error"

"Data transfer successful" simply means the command has been received by the servers, not the car. After the command is received the system tries to contact the car and if it times-out you get that error. This can be for any number of reasons, servers are flooded with requests, your car is in a garage, there is radio interference, etc.

This is pretty cool, but certainly can be cooler. The wait time is slow and a bit annoying, and for some reason the Google Map send doesn't work from the app while it's working from my computer. Maybe it's because my car is parked in the garage? What's weird is, it can locate it with the Vehicle Position feature, and, the lock/unlock both work. Just sending from Google via the app is resulting in an "Error during data transfer. Please try again."

I'm glad this is available, but definitely see it as a version 1 with a lot of improvements needed. Hopefully it gets better with updates soon.

I have Comfort Access, therefore its virtually impossible to lock my keys in my car.
Google locator... meh... what's the point if i'm the only one that drives the car. Beside, if I trust you enough to lend you my car, I won't be monitoring your location. (no i do not have kids, or will be that paranoid parent)

engine start/stop via remote could be very interesting, especially on sub 0 degrees days up here in Canada!

Turns out the Send to Car option isn't working for me afterall. I even tried doing while the car was on but always get the message "Error during data transfer. Please try again."

Bummer. This is one of the most useful features since today it can only be done from a computer.

The only problem I am having with the APP is that 3 of the cars I once owned are still on the list with the 3 BMW's I currently own. I called and asked them to remove it, which BMW assist basically told me was impossible to do without having the new owners call and remove their assist accounts themselves. Seems kind of stupid. Shouldn't BMW assist be capable of taking my old cars off my account so that only the new ones show?

Excellent, I'm so happy I decided to go with the BMW Assist. Strangely enough, I went for it more for the enhanced Bluetooth and USB feature rather than the Assist feature. It's nice that they bundled it.

are you talking about getting assist while buying the car or as an itune app?

I'm talking about adding the BMW Assist option while ordering the vehicle. I was impressed that this option allows use with the BMW "My BMW Remote," I'm not sure if it will work with "BMW Connected." However, theoretically it should since the enhanced USB and Bluetooth allow use of the iPod plugin which is in the "BMW Connected" app.

cool app but does not always work, my last response was the vehicle was moving so could not be tracked. I was looking at it outside the house trying to show a friend how the app was meant to work
