you receive 8 or 10 spam/robo calls a day. I swear, it gets worse every day.
And I block every call, only to have the same idiots with a heavy accent call
again from a different number. The world is going to hell in a hand basket!

I have someone or some robot calling me everyday from the same number(which I have blocked). Apparently blocking the number does not block the caller. My phone doesn't ring or vibrate but the call still generates a dead-air voice mail every time. It's frustrating because it fills up my mailbox if I don't delete them continuously.

Our home phone, which Wifey insists on keeping, is just another device on our Verizon account. It's a box that works off Verizon's LTE system and is plugged into the wall jacks, so you can use multiple handsets with it. It gets two or three of those empty space messages every day. We just end up deleting them.

Yes, call display is nice but some companies are %$#@*& stupid.

I'm the security officer at my office, got an "800" call at 2 AM. When I got to answer, the person calling could not even pronounce my name so I let her have it... I guess they are nor intelligent enough to display "ADT".

So they call the second person on the list, the GM end up having to drive in. I still have my free parking spot

...although it is not technically a landline any more but a VoIP service that costs me about a buck per month for phone numbers in NY and SC. It rings on our cordless phones, fax machine, and simul-ring on both of our cell phones. We only give that number out, and the VoIP service must have some pretty serious robo filters because those two numbers only receive 1-2 spam calls per year.....

Since they come from a calling center, there is a delay, when they say "Hello" I answer "I said that 10 seconds ago" most of them hang up right away.

Not in high school but in the US Army AIT (advanced individual training) as a clerk/typist MOS (military occupational skill)...no electric typewriters either.

My first job at my first duty station was working in the S-2 (Squadron Security and Intel) office. I was listed as the S-2 officer's driver and I drove the S-2 Gamma Goat. But when I wasn't driving, I had to help out in the office typing up security clearance requests and so on. No electric typewriters there, either.

I got so good I had a typewriter with no letters on the keys. I was pretty good! Now, I too, hunt & peck!

At work we had two keyboards, the regular kind and an ABC keyboard. We mostly used the ABC keyboard...

It's funny how we forget those things. I took Spanish in school and so did my sisters and we spoke pretty fluently and we would talk to each other and had lots of conversations in Spanish and now I only know a few words (mostly bad ones). Lol
