Turnip green salad and pide!

Salad served with yogurt garlic dressing and pickled (small yellow) peppers. Turkish flatbread with cheese and seasoned minced beef. Fresh and good. With tea.

I used google, the menus in Türkiye are not too specific!

Kaşar cheese is commonly used for pide, but mozzarella, cheddar or a mozz/cheddar blend can be used.

For the meat, here is something that seems close to what I have had several times:

500 gram ground beef
3 onions
4 tomatoes
5 green peppers
parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon chilli pepper
3 spoon oil

Important is to mince all of the ingredients together very finely.

At last... Pizza night.

The usual Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria on steroid with an added ingredient.

Semi-dry cured Pepperoni, it cup and crisp under heat.

Not as crispy as the one on the $4 Senators Pizza...

Tonight we're having filet mignon, red potatoes roasted in duck fat, and fresh green beans. We'll have a Caesar salad if there's any room left.

The beverage is a 2018 Alexander Valley Silver Oak Cab. That's a splurge due to the beef having come from Bolander Farm in Russellville, Ohio.

Last night we had tacos (SOFT, warm corn tortillas) with Rachera and some other meat grilled on BBQ. Accompanied with queso fresco, ripe avo that fell off the tree during the day, and salsa the wife made.

I must have been good this weekend, the salsa wasn't very spicy (meaning the wife wasn't mad at me)

Slow cooked lamb with crispy onions on white eggplant purée with cream of smoked feta, crispy potato cube, and purée of eggplant, cinnamon and onions.

Dessert - truffles on chocolate crumbs, compliments of the chef.

And a delicious view from the table!
