have you ever sat in or driven a lotus? they are more comparable to a BRZ, just with a british price tag and british reliability. but they need a japanese engine. there's a reason they are constantly on the brink of bankruptcy. no one buys them.

Too many cars out there to drive, and own, not enough time. The Z's have always been fast, and the C8Z will been no exception. It's going to slap alot of supercars around and have reliability and low maintenance to boot. But it still isn't a supercar. It's just as fast (or) faster than some...
I don't care how fast it is Corvettes are not special cars and never will be. It's for people who can't afford Ferrari's

LOL And that's why they're going full EV sooner than later. It's the only way for them.

That's why when it comes to value for performance, it's hard to take this forum seriously. Everyone has their opinions of course but some of the reasoning spewed in this thread has been in the fucking basement. Makes zero sense. Garbage. Basura.

I get it that not everyone has a thing for corvettes. Whether they don't like the brand, don't like the owners, don't like the way they look or any of that stuff. But the car proves itself over and over and that's why people buy them. Corvettes have always offered an insane package in one for an affordable price.

ANd with the C8Z, GM's first supercar, it will do it again, at a great price point.

I would consider the LT6 very special. Put it right up their with any high revving engine from overseas. Where did Ferrari get with their NA V8 in 458, 597hp in the Speciale. Ferrari is generous with their hp claims too. The 670hp NA V8 LT6 with 8600 redline, is no joke. Potential to go down as one of, if not the best mass produced V8's ever made.

Corvette bro in this thread is hilarious
Really? I could afford to spend a few hundred thousand on a car. I have no idea why in the hell I would though. I love cars but frankly if I’m buying a Ferrari I’m clearing multiple millions annually not 500 to million which is frankly more than enough to afford a Ferrari.

Ehh not saying a Ferrari and corvette are comparable - they aren’t (although personally I’m more a lambo guy). BUT to say if you can afford one or not the other is an asinine assertion. When I’m 55-60 maybe but right now at the ripe old age of 38 I’d rather invest and compound for a few more years.

Just thought it was a stupid point.

LOL justification.

As someone who has had Vettes and is buying a C8Z, if I could afford a $300k car, I would skip the Vette & not think twice

Yea, but most of the rest of the car is not, it's same as base C8 so there's that.

LOL @ anyone thinking GM/CHevy is now suddenly upscale or special.

Ford already did FPC in the GT350 too. GM copied the 458...a car no longer made.

THe Emira or another Lotus? A good friend owned an Exige. You know, one of the ones with a reliable Toyota engine in it. He never had any problems with the car & I loved driving it

That’s you. My point was not everybody thinks that way. I wouldn’t buy a car at that price point until I was over 1.5 million in income annually, if then to be honest. I’d much rather build the passive income now. Even the last $80k car - which I paid cash for - I only did because of the fact manuals are passing more and more quickly. Otherwise I’d put it off for a few more years.

And to make it more blunt around justification I could walk out and buy that car in cash right now but frankly $300k invested at this stage of my young life brings me $900k in 15 years, and a fair amount of passive cash flow income between now and then and even more after the 15 years.

And the whole point is at end of day if I wanted to retire at 50 I could and not change my lifestyle.

Ultimately while you may be willing to spend the money not everybody is as willing to. It doesn’t exactly take a huge annual income to afford a 300k car if you are willing to mortgage some of your retirement.

The voodoo in GT350 isn’t your traditional FPC like Ferrari V8 or LT6. Voodoo has a weird up/down/up/down crankshaft. Which has led to some reliability issues. Reason why it doesn’t sound European as well. You say copying the 458 like it is a bad thing. 458 is a car many wish still existed. Unfortunately, NA is a dying breed. GM is offering a world leading NA V8 engine. More hp than any current V10 Huracan model.

Doesn't make sense to keep explaining. They obviously have a hard on for the car but maybe couldn't get on the wait list or got on so late that they're expecting a 5th or 6th MY and they're mad so they'll just constantly diss the car.

I hope the people who will get the car early, 1st and 2nd MY's can enjoy GM's first creation of a supercar.

It'll be special once this generation is over and everything is EV.

This guy has been working on fords his whole life. Big time tuner from florida. And he even shits on the voodoo engine.

To sum up the video:

The voodoo is GARBAGE compared to the masterpiece GM created with the LT6.

lol you're arguing with a guy who has a hard on for me because last fall i said M3's look better than M4's and he cried like a bitch. He still can't get over that months later LOL

But yeah to his point, that's like saying people buy BMW M cars because they can't afford porsche GT cars LOL

Our C7Z's currently are faster than them still though

We will win at life when we get our C8Z supercar

Personally I'm more excited for the C8Z even though I have exotics that are triple the price because it'll sound better, be a different experience and offer 458 sound for half the price. I just don't like the idea of having to buy a 13 year old Ferrari for the similar experience.

Word to the wise: If you have enough $$$ for a 300k car, you also have enough for a 125k car on top of that to park next to it. Income isn't really linear with regards to car purchases of that caliber.

Finally someone with a brain.

Lots of wealthy people on the corvette forum with exotics, and they still have corvettes in their garage.

Some people just talk out of their asses i guess LOL
