Since you guys have been so helpful, I thought I would ask you guys about extended warranties.

So my question is for folks who have bought CPO or used cars, did you buy the manufacturer extended warranty or third party.

I read some folk talking about their good experience with Fidelity and some folks also talking about the GEICO mechanical breakdown insurance.

I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with any of these extended warranties. Found a Gl450 CPO and want to see my options on extending the warranty on the car.

So you want an SUV with three rows. I too have the same dilemma. We really want an X5 or a Q7. We need a car with three rows and we really need a big car that can haul a lot of people and luggage that is not a minivan. Unfortunately neither one of the German SUVs has enough room.

R63. Kill pretty much anything on the road with a minivan. So ridiculous in every possible way it's wonderful.

I would take a look at the Durango SRT when it's released to the public. I would look at the Jeep SRT, Countryman JCW(fun little mini SUV), Infiniti QX80 and Audi Q7.

For those who need 3 rows of seats, anyone look into that VW Atlas at all? Just took a quick look seems pretty slick. Apparently the 3rd row can be accessed easily even with kid seats installed in 2nd.

3 row SUV are asinine unless you need a V8 for towing. Just get a fucking minivan, nothing compares to the utility.

An R63 just sold on bring a trailer for $37.5k. The only humiliation there would be for everyone you smoke with that thing.

Think they made under 200 of them though so the minivans I'd actually consider driving are like 0.000000000001% of those on the road.

I don't care how fast it is, 99% of people will still see a mommy mobile.

Isn't that half the fun of something so ridiculous? That's coming from someone who takes a perverse pleasure in stealth rocket ships and has had Dinan wagons, AMG wagons etc. I'd DD an RS6 avant if I could get one here.

Same here, RS6, RS4 and E63 Touring would all be awesome if we could get them. But the R, that's just too ugly, and I had an E36/8 M Coupe.

We're super happy with our Land Cruiser. Super reliable, all the comfort we could want, plenty of power. The only real downside is the gas mileage. Might be worth a look.

I've always wanted to ask a Land Cruiser owner this question: Why would you spend $85k on a Toyota Land Cruiser when the Lexus version is only $5k more?

I still love my 2012 X5. It's my wife's daily driver and our weekend warrior chariot. 40K miles and no major problems.

I bought it certified for half that so....

I prefer the more subdued styling of the Land Cruiser over the LX570. The LX570 has an air suspension that I don't want to maintain and possibly repair. Not to mention it rides harsher and eliminates the KDSS system that the Land Cruiser has. It also makes it more difficult to modify the suspension if I ever decide to. The towing capacity is rated 1100lbs less for the LX570. Regular vs premium fuel for no gain in performance.

I guess if you're a badge whore the marginal price difference is probably worth it.

Well you want to look at the cost of the extension for the dealer. And what it's costing you extend it beyond what the CPO gives you.

Agreed! While I haven't owned an X5M, I have owned two X5's: a '13 and '14 respectively. They both rode extremely well.
