Yes seems like special fenders (a la Mini GP perhaps?).

In any case, a model like that will cost well in excess of $150k which puts it completely out of my price range…

I tend to agree.

It's going to be a M8 CSL. You don't have to be a genius to figure that one out.

It's bs once again from BMW. It would've been nice if they let M do it's thing and show everybody what they really could do with a standalone car. But BMW doesn't have the guts. So they go with an existing model modify it and make us believe it's better than a Porsche GT2 or some dumb sh like that.

I certainly hope so. The G80/2 are too ugly to be representing M's 50th anni.

Would be cool to see the old CSL M stripes, mesh wheels, or even the big rear wing
And it would be even cooler if they could keep the "L" in "CSL".

BMW M it's your 50th Anniversary and under absolutely no circumstances are you to build some rolling bullshit.

Banish the bean counters to play video games. Make your current designers for exterior and interior sit in the basement of BMW Classic surrounded by nothing but E9's, E30 M3's, E31 M8 prototype, E46 M3, M3 CSL and M3 GTR, E39 M5's, E26 M1, M1 Hommage, and that damn 3.0 CSL Hommage.

Those cars are like the BMW M version of The Force and they need to the let passion that was used to conceive and build them flow through them. And let them find the balance between the light side and the dark side with the culminating inspiration leading to the ultimate BMW M car for the ages.

It's entirely possible that none of that would likely happen and it could be an just another car with a lot more M badges and a long story about the essence of BMW M.

The first car under the cover definitely looks like a wagon or hatchback. Wonder what it could be. Looks a bit too small and curvy to be the G81. Shooting brake would be nice...

The E30 M3s were still winning races internationally in 1992 in Group A and DTM

I started watching car racing since I was 5

Emanuele Pirro, Joachim Winkelhock and Steve Soper were some of the BMW backed racing heros in that era to consistently win races in the E30 M3

You are not fair! Flasch is a very authentic person. He is a petrol head and he can drive. What he says in interviews is consistent and makes sense.
I guess you have problems with his german/austrian flavoured English? Ok. Then let's hear your German.

Would love an M4 with 4.4 litre twin turbo V8.

That's it. Nothing more.

And regardless of how it looks, I'm 100% positive it blows the F80 away. It's a real M3, trust me.
I agree, in fact, the F80 might not be the real M3 in the whole lineup. Drives more like a traditional AMG than a ///M in many ways.

Please tell them we don't need another M5 Touring.

I was expecting some special packages F90 M5, but then after CS already unveiled, I see that makes no sense.

Then your post won't be deleted and his will. Plus he'll get banned from the G8x sub-forum.

Why are people bashing the idea of a CSL and assuming it will be something superficial like an "appearance package"? That's not the case with all the CS models that have been released so why would it be true for a CSL? On a subjective note the G80 is bigger, heavier, uglier, and with a lesser transmission than the F80. It's not a product of Biermann. For those who want to argue the point don't bother my mind is made up. So I hope a CS or CSL really elevate this car to something that's a lot lighter and more special.
