Aside from the Front Turn Signal Coolers and the Door Striker Plate Coolers, are there other fake vents?

My M Coupe, like just about every fairly recent M Car, had fake vents on the front fenders, so I'll forgive Toyota if those are fake too.

in Toyota's defense, they said the fake vents are for after markets, they can all be popped to be functionally for whatever aftermarket wants to put on them...

To me it doesnt matter if I have to make ducting or not, as long as I dont have to cut up the beauty side of hood/fender/etc and repaint my brand new panels then I am happy.

I still haven't seen anyone could do 12.0 sec 1/4 and 3.0 sec 0-60 as claimed when the Supra just came out. Maybe that was just Toyota marketting bs.

When did the Supra claim 3.0 seconds? That's M5/Tesla territory. Do you mean 4.0?

The press release said 0-60 in 4.1... and I believe it was able to do 0-60 in 3.8 sec as tested by C&D.

Yet, the 2020 Supra is a fully forward-looking sports car, brimming with a cutting-edge powertrain, chassis and multimedia technology. Like the pinnacle of the previous Supra series, the 2020 model will be powered by a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. The new Supra’s 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbo six will produce 335 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque and will be teamed with a quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Toyota projects 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.1 seconds, which makes this the quickest toyota-branded production vehicle to date.
12.0 sec 1/4

I just think there's a lot more to the story besides Toyota cancelling his warranty on a steering rack because tune. For most of these YouTube people there's ALWAYS more to the story than meets the eyes.

Wouldn't put it pass anyone of these YouTube guys to actually twist the story around to get a few more clicks, IMO. I recall some Tuber douche getting caught red-handed by a few motorcycle guys when he was doing burn-outs in his Lambo on a BUSY MOUNTAIN ROAD and nearly side-swiped a couple of riders. One of his burn-outs came within INCHES of hitting a motorcyclist head-on.

My personal experience with most of these "personalities" are they're all douches in real life and whatever it is that they do, getting clicks is the first and foremost priority. So believe nothing, question everything is my motto when it comes to videos like this.

They offer nothing more than entertainment IMO.

Losing by only 9/100ths of a second in the 400m (1/4 mile) is incredibly impressive for a car with 70 less hp and with a 'slushbox' vs a DCT. You have to give credit where credit is due.

12.0 sec 1/4

Those times have not been replicated by other magazines. Besides, those times are a little fast for its power/weight ratio. I mean if you're the only who could obtain those numbers but others could not, then most likely others are more accurate.

For example, MotorWeek did 12.8 sec 1/4 although their time tends to be higher vs. other publication, but a fair number would be 12.5, NOT 12.0 flat. Also I've seen a couple of vid where they drag race the Supra vs. a Mustang GT and they are basically neck and neck, and I know for a fact that the Mustang is no where near 12.0 1/4.

Fair enough, but at least not have to cut from the top side to start with is better than have to

So you’re basically saying all fake vents on all cars are a good thing, because they have the potential to be real vents if you cut them open??

Ok. I didn't they were any. I simple replied with an example when you ask "I still haven't seen anyone could do 12.0 sec 1/4". Also Toyota has never said the car could do the 1/4 mile in 12 sec flat, so let's please stop spreading false info.

I don't think I said directly that "Toyota claimed ...". I was implying their marketing department was juicing up the number through a couple of vid from a third party. You can't be naive to think Toyota had nothing to do with it. The timing was too much of a coincidence. Just right after the Supra was released, you got a vid that did 12.0 1/4 but then nobody was able to replicated that once the Supra was released to the general public.

We had several staff members on the Supra forum attend the VA press review event and none of them has said anything about what you are implying. They had a video Q&A session w/ Tada and Toyota left them alone to review and test drive the car as they pleased. We all know drivers, road conditions, weather etc plays a role with any car as explained by CarWOW in another comparison video where they timed the Zupra at 12.5 sec. We can keep going back and forth all day, but the only thing officially put out by Toyota is the press release, everything else is hearsay and speculation.

12.5 1/4 may be possible but no way 12.0 1/4 under any condition unless the car was juiced up by Toyota.

Maybe that's why it's called CarWow . Maybe there'll be a CarBoom that can do sub 12.0. Anyway, I got no skin in the game.

I don’t really understand your points here, no where has Toyota said 12.0 so I don’t see why the car not hitting 12.0 is worth mentioning.

Not at all.. He is saying that wether or not the ducting is there when you pop out the vent is irrelevant because a real vent can be made without destroying a new factory hood and paint job
