^^ This. I want to know how they will be dealing with temps of the motors will all the extra weight + the decreased range. I imagine it will be quite a significant decrease.

I said it in a different Tesla thread, but the majority of their sales model is brand image / exclusivity. I have it, and you don't / cant afford it. The hype train for Tesla is unreal.

I dont mind the looks of it at all. In fact, I kinda like it. Its different...and I think it opens the doors for companies like lucid, nikola, rivian and possibly some chinese manufacturers to push design towards this "utilitarian" image.
I look of Nuerons take on the pick...I think were going to have some badass looking EV Pickups in the following years.

If you want to show off while you take your jetski or boat to the water down the street I'm sure it's a fine "truck". If you want to haul a 32 foot RV across the country multiple times like I use my truck for, then it's completely useless. Not only am I sure the range will be greatly diminished under load, good luck going to charge that thing with a 32' trailer behind you.
Bullet proof, metal glass, tug of war with an F150... this is all useless marketing nonsense. Although people eat it up. Personally I would rather see Tesla focus on a small number of skus than waste time with nonsense like this truck. I want to see a sub $30k car (before tax credits) with 350+ mile range. I want to see some real advancement in their self driving tech (I was not very impressed with my friends model 3 self driving). I want to see better build quality. Not a useless truck. Hopefully all those $100 deposits can fund some of the latter. |

Literally putting the two vehicles side by side only further shows off the ungainly design of the Cybertruck. I'm all for Tesla's model 3 and S, but this Cybertruck was the wrong move, but it will sell to the techies who don't give two shits about trucks or know anything about cars, aka most of Tesla's fanbase.

There is another Model X video where they set out to drive from Colorado to Oregon pulling a small pop up 2k lbs trailer. They eventually just turn around and go get their Power Wagon from their fleet to complete the trip. Towing 14k lbs will produce an abysmal range on this cybertruck.

You can lease a Tesla for $399/month. They are highly affordable and offer zero exclusivity.

I'm sure a base BMW or Mercedes is the same, people still buy them for the badge. That being said... if you want an electric car I think it's hard to beat the model 3. I also think other manufacturers are starting to release more compelling options. |

For a lot of us, like me, the place I like to get away from tech is when I drive. The Model 3 shoves the tech right in your face, you can't turn it off. It's a goddamned cell phone with a seat and wheels.

I have to say, when you see it next to an F150, it looks a bit better than on the stage with Musk in his cool black Tee. I'm thinking this truck will not become a Texas Cadillac; not enough headroom for a 10-gallon hat.

I really enjoyed the physics lesson video. I think the Tesla truck will win over Honda Ridgeline owners. Hopefully there is room in the bedspace for a Ridgeline-style bed-trunk and Tesla puts one in it. And if the tailgate opens both horizontally and vertically.
But the country boys in my neck of the woods who run American and Dixie Flags out of the stake holes are not going to buy this truck. All and all out of the approximately 3 million light-duty truck sales per year, I'm not seeing a disruptive change with the cybertruck (stupid name BTW). Honda should be worried, not Ford/Chevy/Dodge.
