Rear end is not a pretty sight. The red section of the taillights should have been flipped upside down, like how I did here on the left light. Looks more BMW and less Kia.

1 series needs that front bumper option. Can someone make a photo of that?

Hona?

Any one knows if some former Honda designer moved to BMW in recent years? else I don't understand why BMW design team think every thing should look like a visit in after market Japanese design shop.

I’m not feeling the triangles yet. I know the m2 will be more aggressive but I don’t see it looking anything like the render of the tree variation (unfortunately). Instead the front seems like it will (unfortunately) have more of an x4m look.

The headlights are actually looking progressive but the tails don’t compliment them at all. It feels like if the angel eye feature is at the bottom of the headlight, the brake light should be at the bottom of the tail assembly. Or vice versa.

I love the new tails on the g80. Love how sharp and sleek they are. Would have been a nice look on the 2.

Feeling a bit like the m2 may be a disappointment from a styling standpoint but will give it a bit more time.

The triangles will be inverted on the m2 I believe and the lower grill shape will change to match.

Will this get a 6MT at any of the levels of trim ? M2 only ?

Promising for the M2 with different front fascia treatment - but those triangles up front are 2x larger than they need to be and the tail lights remind me of the unholy offspring of the E90 3er and the current X3 LCI

Front end looks rather good, gives me hope for the G87.. The rear tho, that needs work. Looks a lot like a C class mercedes, too rounded and not aggressive enough.

To anyone who is not really feeling the overall headlight design, don't despair just yet. I'm assuming that the LED only and the Laser version of these headlights will naturally appear slightly different in styling and daytime running lights, as it is with every current BMW.

I'm assuming this is not the Laser version since it doesn't emit the signature blue 'scenic' hue, within the light (example on X7 below).

I mean, definitely not the ugliest car in BMW's current lineup.

Looking forward to what the M2 turns out to be

Wow I really thought they would mess this one up but I really love it. Still very classic BMW and heavy influence from the 2002. If they make a manual M2 "2002 Turbo" edition with livery I may have to sell some essential organs. Hopefully the bum will be just as nice.

I despise the triangles. I want to buy the M2 but I really hope they make the triangle air vents look better for the full M version

I'm digging it. Definite retro vibes that aren't too over the top for my tastes.
