They're a favorite of mine. Perhaps that's because, they're very hard to catch in the open, but the reward is so great when you finally do catch one in good light with all its parts showing. I look for pheasant almost every day, but only get a few per year. As an aside, when I was in England last fall I was surprised to see them roaming around like tame chickens. The owner of the estate later told me that's because they actually raise them from young and feed them on the grounds. In the fall they invite the Londoners out (for a steep price) and have a big pheasant shoot, where it's not unusual for a party of 4 or 5 shooters to get over 100 birds in a four-hour shoot. Dave

Thanks.
I was helped by the snow on the ground, the incredible Colorado sun and good ole DxO Optics Pro 8.0. Dave

Golden Gate at dawn, as seen from Fort Baker. The only reason I was out there so early it because this was taken the day of the shuttle flyover. It was just me and some harbor seals.

Yeah, the same day they didn't tell me on the radio it was overhead as they were looking at it. I remember that day well.

As is, it's meant to fit an "urban wildlife" theme that's popular today. There's been purchase interest in some of my images showing wildlife interacting with mankind in urban settings. I may may make another version for sunset lovers. Thanks for the suggestion. Dave
