The GT350 motor is a totally different animal. The one I drove had a weird clutch, but it was a CarMax car with 20k miles, so who knows what it's history was.

I realise there is a difference between the Coyote and the Voodoo. Never driven the Voodoo but the Coyote surprised me in regards to the revs it likes. i mean, it's no S2000 but it's not all bottom end torque either, tremendous engine.

My understanding is the Voodoo likes way more revs and won't pull as hard below 4,000RPM but i heard one on the throttle a few months back and dear me it was a hell of a noise.

GT350 is intoxicating. Drove one a few weeks back, and it spoiled me! Fantastic car.

It really is but i do wish they offered a proper quality interior, even for a hefty price, i'd pay it. let's say 10K for Alcantara and higher quality leather and plastics.

It's an awkward interior. Even if it were made of the best materials, it's still weird. But the engine sounds fantastic, even if it eats more oil than a rotary.

I respect not buying a vehicle without driving it first, but I believe that viewpoint is becoming more and more old fashioned. A good example is all those whom order a vehicle before it's even released. These days, this practice is downright commonplace among enthusiasts!

All someone has to do to obtain a test drive, is display a serious intent to purchase the vehicle FROM THAT DEALER. The rarer (and higher-demand) the vehicle, the more you'll have to convince the dealer you're serious. That's why nearly anyone can test drive a Honda Accord; yet test driving a Ferrari requires a lot more proof of serious intent.

Car in question is USED. $60k for USED & can't drive it? That's just STUPID.

Aren't they doing the same with the Supra?

At least you can just go drive a Z4 at any BMW dealer. It's close enough. Driving a regular GT Mustang isn't nearly the same as being able to drive a GT350.

The Golden Mustang. Looking forward to all the NO TEST DRIVES, BITCHES! on the new GT500. Once it's out for a bit I may go try to drive one. I bet even showing up in my Hellcat = no test drive for me.

So I recently looked at a 2020 Supra and a 2018 M240i (10k miles).

I ended up buying the BMW.

Same engine, 30k cheaper, has back seats and a trunk, and you don't feel claustrophobic in the car. Plus I don't bang my skull on the frame every time I get in the M240i.

Oh and the biggest reason, the M240i comes in Manual.

I'm not going to knock anyone who buys a Supra, because I think they're nice cars and I love the rear end, but I just don't see the current appeal against the comparable BMWs. If I had a choice between a 2020 M240i and a Supra, I'd still get the M240i.

Just my 2 cents.

I saw another stock Mk5 Supra on the road this past weekend.

I got way to jaded seeing all those nutty Supra builds at SEMA, ruined stock Supra's for me.

I feel the same, however, if they made a Z4 coupe in manual with the b58, and got the styling right, that would be another story

But how does an M240i perform v a Supra?

Throw a tune on the M240i and they're the same car. 3.8-3.9 second 0-60.

I forgot to mention the 2nd biggest deal breaker after the manual. The wind buffeting issue and no sunroof.

That last one is personal preference obviously, but not being able to drive your 50k dollar car with the windows down is ridiculous.

Supra is a good car, but like others have mentioned I wouldn't buy one for the styling, lack of practicality, buffeting or auto-only trans. I do wish BMW would let Toyota tune their steering or learn from them, because the Supra's steering and feel is superior to that of BMW's.

Sure... But the 240i starts at 5k cheaper than the Supra, AND can be had in manual.

Does the 2er still have the same terrible handling of the 1er? $5k might get you a properly sorted suspension. Face it, the Supra is a smaller, better tuned and more focused car. It's been putting up faster track times than the M2C on many tracks. No one has ever said that about an M240i.

I agree that having a manual available is nice, but you'd still have to factor in the price of an LSD, and of course it would be slower. Sure seems like comparing the Supra to an M2C would be a better starting point.
